Several weeks after the OnePlus 3 came out, Ian Hardy, MobileSyrup ‘s publisher, asked me whether the website should run a "three months later" feature on the device. "Bossman," I said, "shouldn't we wait until the phone is at least six months old?
Superb performance & improved battery life; Near stock Android with smart additions; Handsome new Graphite colour
$100 more expensive; OnePlus 3 is still a great smartphone; Not water or dust proof like other flagships
The OnePlus 3T is a worthy successor to the OnePlus 3 . However, the task has not been too challenging for the manufacturer because the previous model was already one of the best high-end Android smartphones. The changes for the OnePlus 3T are also pretty small, so this is still the case here.
high-quality chassis; high-end performance without throttling; good camera; fast storage; fast WLAN; dual-SIM; notification lever; USB Type-C; up to 128 GB internal storage; decent voice quality with noise suppression; good display; Quick-Charge; long battery runtimes
only LTE Cat; 6, different frequencies depending on the region, no storage expansion, no FM radio, webcam not as sharp as before, no Infrared, speakers with some static, no headphones in the box
It's been just six months from the launch of what was and still is a very popular smartphone in the Android smartphone market, the OnePlus 3 , and we already have its upgraded replacement called the OnePlus 3T .
On the surface, the OnePlus 3T might seem like a minor upgrade over the OnePlus 3; the key areas being the battery capacity, higher resolution front camera and the faster CPU. However, after using it for the better part of a week, it's clear that the improvements extend to the brighter and more...
With a better processor, battery, and front camera, the OnePlus 3T is a tune-up of an already great phone.
Great specs for the money; Larger battery ensures a full-day's charge; Adds 128GB option
Costs $40 more than the OnePlus 3; Higher-resolution front camera doesn't add much to selfies; Still no Verizon or Sprint support
The OnePlus 3T is really not a big upgrade to the OnePlus 3, but it still a good performer, and value for money smartphone
Class leading performance; Premium build quality and design; Super fast to charge; Good display
One day battery life only
Looking to pick up a top-end flagship phone without spending in upwards of $600 or more Want the latest in mobile chipsets and the performance that goes with it, but don't want to break the bank
Significantly improved battery life over the OnePlus 3; Dash Charge is as fast as ever; Amazing build quality; Hardware priority mode slider is genius; Vibrant and beautiful AMOLED screen; Top-tier performance; Light Android skin with some nice added features; Unbelievably fast fingerprint scanner,...
No high-res audio or Bluetooth aptX; No Daydream VR support; Launching with Android Marshmallow instead of Nougat
The OnePlus 3T is an excellent smartphone. The fit and finish is right up there with the best, the metal design is refined and even with a 5.5in screen, it's a manageable smartphone to use on a daily basis.
all-metal; great fingerprint sensor; good screen; fast charging; good cameras; excellent notification slider; dual-Sim with dual standby; cheaper than rivals
not quite as cheap as it once was; no removable battery; no expandable storage; slow charging from non-Dash charge power adapters; screen low res for VR; not yet running Nougat
It has usually been Apple who can get away with incremental changes to their flagships. OnePlus have learn't from the master of the game. And so six months after the OnePlus 3 made waves in the mid-range market, the disruptive manufacturer is back.
Top line processor; fantastic looks; Good battery; latest Android; Under-£400
Incremental changes since OnePlus 3
