Nokia 6

It's fair to say the global launch of the Nokia 6 wasn't the headline news from Nokia's MWC 2017 press conference. That spotlight was stolen by the announcement that Nokia was relaunching the classic 3310 phone after 17 years.

. If you're considering both as your next handset, we've got all the details of how the specs compare and how to decide between the two. The Nokia phone looks a fair bit like the old Lumia handsets, but thankfully without the luminous lime and orange colourways. In fact, the colours are lovely.

The Nokia 6

The ad isn't too obnoxious, right? The breaks in the silver border are a sleekly disguised antenna. If you are looking for a budget-priced Android phone that doesn't feel like a budget phone and that doesn't come loaded with a lot of carrier installed bloatware, the Nokia 6 is a great option.
Pros:
  • Excellent Nokia build-quality running Android
  • Dual-SIM is perfect for those who carry a work and personal phone or who travel
  • Large battery
  • Great camera
  • Option of paying an extra $50 to remove ads Android on a Nokia phone
Cons:
  • Uses a microUSB port rather than Type-C
  • If you are a heavy gamer, the processor may not be quite fast enough for you

Hands-on: Nokia 6 review

The Nokia 6 is a difficult one to offer a verdict on because we feel quite torn about it. If this were a smartphone launched by any of the other big players in the smartphone industry right now we’d probably say that it’s a decent smartphone with a really good price tag but nothing particularly outstanding in the current market. But because this is Nokia we’re talking about we’re strangely excited about it. We think it’s going to catch the attention of those who loved their Nokia phones years back thanks to their simplicity and reliability, and with such a great price tag we expect it’ll quickly become a popular choice for smartphone buyers. We’re looking forward to spending more time with the Nokia 6 and its siblings, and we’re intrigued to find out what the future holds for Nokia.

Out of everything that the 6 has to offer there were really only the two negative points that reared up at me during testing. The camera which has already been mentioned and at times, the lack of CPU made load times on apps noticeably longer than on other devices I've recently used.

International flavor

Nokia 6 review: The brand is back, but this phone is full of compromises

First and foremost, this is a budget-friendly phone. It's better than a cheap $50 Tracfone and will certainly give you a better experience (and will probably work for most than 6 months) but it's still a little underwhelming, even at its lower price point.
