(MWC 2018) Nokia 6 (2018) Hands-on, Quick Review: Better Every Year

Earlier this year HMD Global announced the refresh for their first ever Android phone, the Nokia 6. And just like the model that came before it, the Nokia 6 (2018) was first made available for the Chinese market, with a wider global release set for later.

Audio is not redirected to car kit

1. Excellent camera and display. 2. Phone calls start on SPEAKER rather than ear pieace - couldn't resolve it. 3. When using my integral car kit the call data shows on the car's display (phone number and call time) but audio doesn't go through the car kit, both speaking and hearing.

Nokia 6 review: a budget bargain from one of mobile's most loved names

Nokia's back! Back! BACK! Of course, it isn't really Nokia: the brand was sold to Finnish firm HMD, who can use it for ten years. But this isn't just a case of sticking the Nokia logo on a me-too Android. It's pretty, and pretty good value for money.
Pros:
  • Great value for money
  • Surprisingly good camera
Cons:
  • Really slow charging
  • Battery isn't brilliant

Nokia 6 (2018) Review: A Flawed But Impressive Smartphone

Last year, HMD Global launched the Nokia 6, and the phone was rather underwhelming. It didn't quite stack up next to offerings from competitors like Xiaomi. Now, the company has launched the 2018 version of the Nokia 6, priced at ₹16,999 , and it takes on the likes of the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the...

Nokia 6 (2018) review

We really wanted to like the original Nokia 6, but when it arrived, it wasn't clear what it was trying to be: too expensive to be a true bargain, it lacked the hardware it needed to compete with similarly-priced rivals. At a time when Nokia hadn't yet revealed a proper flagship, we were left wondering if it was as good as things were going to get. A year later, it all makes sense. The Nokia 8 has taken its place at the top of the line-up (soon to be usurped by the Nokia 8 Sirocco, and rivalled by the seriously tempting Nokia 7 Plus) and the new Nokia 6 has settled firmly in the lower mid-range. Which is pretty much the perfect place for it. Despite costing more, this version is better than the phone it replaces, the “old” Nokia 6. It looks better, packs more power and the newer CPU seems to have a positive effect on day-to-day battery life. The battery is much faster to charge too. Slight downsides are that the Nokia 6 camera is only fair and the 16:9 screen will probably look quite dated in six months. But, all in all, this is a solid phone if you like the idea of owning a Nokia.
Pros:
  • Solid performance
  • Good battery life
  • High-quality build
Cons:
  • Camera struggles in tricky lighting
  • 16:9 screen will seem retro soon
