The most expensive model of Nokia's new smartphone trio distinguishes itself from the Nokia 3 and the Nokia 5 with its larger form factor and 5.5-inch Full HD display. The working memory and internal storage also received an upgrade, being more generous at 3 GB and 32 GB respectively.

Nokia 6 review: Nokia has always been known for a very European design philosophy, one that is practical, sturdy and stylish, while not tending to be outlandish. The Nokia 6 is no exception, but HMD Global has focussed on the style part too.

The Nokia 6 was the first Nokia-branded Android smartphone unveiled by HMD Global , the new custodians of the iconic Nokia brand, at the beginning of this year . It was initially unveiled in China, and was exclusive there for a few months before being made available in other markets .

Nokia 6 review: The brand is back, but this phone is full of compromises

First and foremost, this is a budget-friendly phone. It's better than a cheap $50 Tracfone and will certainly give you a better experience (and will probably work for most than 6 months) but it's still a little underwhelming, even at its lower price point.

Lovely phone

I have been waiting for a new Nokia for years! It's a great phone but unfortunately not as robust as the old Lumia 925. Cracked the screen on this one in my handbag (admittedly my own fault), but the old 925 had survived 5 years of similar treatment without incident.

International flavor

We're back at checking out one of the most hyped phones this year - the Nokia 6. This time around though, it's repackaged for worldwide action and, hopefully, not a déjà vu all over again.

Out of everything that the 6 has to offer there were really only the two negative points that reared up at me during testing. The camera which has already been mentioned and at times, the lack of CPU made load times on apps noticeably longer than on other devices I've recently used.

Of the three phones Nokia launched earlier this year (The Nokia 3 , 5 and 6), the Nokia 6 ( $229.00 at Amazon.com ) is the star. But at only £220 (or $180 in the US, with Amazon's ads appearing on the lockscreen), it's still affordable.

One wonders what Nokia's fate would have been had they have adopted Android when it was first available a number of years ago. Nokia chose a different path and the brand has been on quite a journey ever since.

The Nokia 6 is a difficult one to offer a verdict on because we feel quite torn about it. If this were a smartphone launched by any of the other big players in the smartphone industry right now we’d probably say that it’s a decent smartphone with a really good price tag but nothing particularly outstanding in the current market. But because this is Nokia we’re talking about we’re strangely excited about it. We think it’s going to catch the attention of those who loved their Nokia phones years back thanks to their simplicity and reliability, and with such a great price tag we expect it’ll quickly become a popular choice for smartphone buyers. We’re looking forward to spending more time with the Nokia 6 and its siblings, and we’re intrigued to find out what the future holds for Nokia.
