Nikon 40mm f/2.8G DX AF-S Micro Nikkor
Bought this one second-hand some years ago and it has proved itself to be an extremely useful lens - doubling as a 'standard 60mm (equiv)' and a fast macro. Sharpness is excellent but bokeh can be rather 'busy' in some lighting - especially dappled woodland sunlight.
Pros:
- Very sharp! On full frame cameras
- you can get useful results if you stop down to F/8 or more
Cons:
- 7-blade iris makes for 'busy' bokeh
- Auto-focus not the quickest

Great bit of kit
I purchased this to use with my Nikon D3200 for close shots as the 2 lenses provided with the camera are great but are of little use for quality close up photos of very small items with small detail.

Go prime with this
Best Lens for: Flower Photography Closeup Photography Food Photography Portraits Landscape Videography Very light China made lens. Small too. But don't consider this as a drawback. This small lens can do wonder if you know how to use it.

Nikon 40 macro
In the short time we have owned this we are just beginning in to see what it can do. Of course it is limited since we are figuring out our camera also. But we are please and can't wait til flowers start blooming.

Fantastic but only lasted 2 weeks.
truely outstanding Perfect condition, I do think this product is of high cost efficient and practicality. will purchase products from this company again, as needed. I received the goods in accordance with what was presented on the site. Recommend!

Great option if you are on a budget
I've been using this lens for a few months off and on with a D5300. The only thing that isn't great about this lens is the auto focus. It constantly rotates the dial back and forth, and I've waited minutes for it to either take the image, or I just turn the camera off.

Great lens
Very good. Sharp images, but minimal focal length is very short. Its great for still life, and I use it for jewelry and portrait. One thing I fell. Manual focus is very very hard. But maybe its my one

Was very impressed on this Nikon 40mm Lens. At first i was a little upset but then i played with the settings and boom happy. I use it to take close up pictures with my Live Coral that i sell online. Gotta get closer then i 60 or 105mm but for the price it was def worth the purchase.
