Micro Nikkor AF-S DX 40mm f/2.8 G - Review / Test Report
The Micro-Nikkor AF-S DX 40mm f/2.8 G is a very nice addition to Nikon's line-up of dedicated DX lenses. Image sharpness is excellent in the image center wide open already, the borders and corners show very good resolution, too, when slightly stopped down.

Great Macro Lens
Great macro lense. I use it on a Nikon D7000. It performs at a premium level and for the price you can't beat it. This lens also has metal mounting, instead of plastic, so it's very durable when compared to the average kit lens that comes with most DSLR's.
Pros:
- Price and performance
Cons:
- Doesn't have image stabilization

Robb
Do yourself a favor and find an older AF-D in the 100-200mm range if you want a true macro lens.
Pros:
- Its Nikon glass so it is quality and it will AF on all camera's including the lower end models like the D40
- Small, lightweight and portable
- Good for someone who want's a normal lens comparable to the 35mm for regular shooting, and may have the need to shoot a quick flower or product like jewelery...
Cons:
- Its focal length is its greatest weakness
- No macro hobbyist would ever use anything under 100mm
- Lenses like this force you to get really close which: A: Puts you in your own shadow
- B: Scares insects away
- C: Forces you to use a ring flash or off shoe.

"Lens bought sooner because of homeshop18"
Lens is the most important part of the camera. Without which taking photos will be impossible. Proper selection of the lens is must to get extremely good results out of your efforts. Once my lens of Nikon camera got damaged, I had to replace it with a new one. And this selection was a hard one.

takes amazing photos showing lots of detail. the only con is when take a breath it can move the camera so some can come out blurred. its very lightweight compared to other lenses.

This Lens is a companion to Nikons ES-2 Digitizer
I bought this macro lens to use on my Nikon D500 with the Nikon ES -2 slide and film digitizer. The lens is tack sharp and is a perfect match for the ES -2 digitizer which enables side and film conversion far more quickly and easily than using a conventional scanner.

Nikon 40mm f/2.8G DX Review
During my two month journey with the Nikon 40mm f/2.8G DX Micro, I had a number of opportunities to use the lens for different types of photography. I tried it out for macro and landscapes during my trips to Yellowstone and Colorado mountains, shot an engagement along with Lola and took pictures of...

Instant Love
I've been a a photographer for 9 years so far, and I really loved my 50mm I owned. I didn't think any lens would out-do that lens. I was wrong. I bought this micro lens as my first micro lens to just play around with and do some fun macro work away from my business photography.
