Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX 18-140mm F/3.5-5.6 Lens JAA819DB review
I used to own the Nikon 18-200mm VR lens and it’s pretty good but very soft at anything less than f9 from 100mm upwards. I bought this lens, cheaply, as part of a kit when I upgraded my camera and I’ve done a few tests on it.- Wide zoom range
- very good sharpness for a super zoom
- No distance scale
- chromatic aberrations are a little high at times
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR
The Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR ($499.95) is the company's replacement for its older AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR zoom. It's priced a bit higher, but covers a longer zoom range.- Sharp through most of range
- 7.8x zoom range
- Optically stabilized
- Fairly compact
- Loads of distortion
- Edge performance could be better
- Hood not included
Lens Test: Nikon 18–140mm f/3.5–5.6g DX ED VR AF-S Zoom
Released in August 2013, Nikon's 18–140mm f/3.5–5.6G DX ED VR for APS-C bodies replaces its popular 18–135mm f/3.5–5.6G zoom, adding Vibration Reduction and 5mm of reach at the long end.
Super sharp lens, very fast autofocus
Super lens, Would recomend for sure as this proved to be a single lens I used in my entire trip without much need to change lens which I had to do earlier.
AF-S Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED VR
The focal length range, which spans from moderately wide to modest telephoto, makes this lens a good general-purpose lens, particularly for travellers and family snapshooters who want a single, all-in-one solution.

Nikon 18-140mm review
Nikon 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6 VR DX ( DX coverage only, 67mm filters, 17.2 oz./487g, 1.5'/0.45m close focus, about $600 ). My biggest source of support is when you use any of these links , especially this link directly to it at Adorama or directly to it at Amazon , when you get anything , regardless of...- Won't work well on FX digital or 35mm cameras because the lens can't cover the entire image
- On 35mm cameras the sides and corners are black, and FX cameras will mask-down their finder to cover less than half their usual area
