Excellent buy.
I thought I'd write a review to help others. I dropped my 18-55 and was going to buy another, but one of your staff asked me some questions about my needs (which is almost a dying art it seems these days) and suggested the 18-140.

This is a great all-rounder for a D7000 or D7100. I have the 16-85mm, but sometimes I was needing more reach. This provides a very useful zoom range while staying light and compact.
Pros:
- Exceptional VR performance
- fast & accurate focusing
- and even sharpness through zoom range
Cons:
- Distortion typical for the genre.

An ok lens
Plz buy from RPcamera of flipkart.they r selling it for 21k only. If u buy for 24k obv u can buy from outside retail as they wld be giving u warranty as specified by nikon site but i suggest to buy from Flipkart as its cheap here.

Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR
A consumer lens with a zoom ratio of almost 8:1 is never going to be as good in the optical department as primes or short-range professional zooms, and the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR certainly doesn't challenge that paradigm.

Perfect walk around lens with the right camera.
Great range, excellent photos. If you use the settings "RETOUCH MENU >DISTORTION CONTROL" on Nikon cameras like the D7100 and the D3300, the optical distortions disappear. Definitely a lens to keep on your camera for most purposes.

The Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens shows a lot of distortion, but Nikon cameras can correct that.
Pros:
- Sharp through most of range., 7.8x zoom range., Optically stabilized., Fairly compact.
Cons:
- Loads of distortion., Edge performance could be better., Hood not included.

18-140 zoom
"I bought this lens, used, from Henry's on July 11th. I have a 16-85 and an old, but very sharp, 35-105 which I use on a Nikon D7000. I learned a long time ago to let your shooting dictate what lenses you buy.

Awesome Lens Best All in One
Pros: Focuses quicker than the default 18-55 Has a nice aperture for a jack of all trades (3.5) Feels sturdy due to its metal and glass build For $299 you get both the 18-55 and the 55-200 (well minus those 60), but for the price better aperture where they both interlace.

Refurbished or New? I can't tell.
I was very impressed when I opened up the package, it looks brand new. Did some test shots inside and outside and again I was impressed. With the exception of some distortion at 18mm focused at about 4 feet which by the way was easily corrected at about 23mm I was very pleased.
Pros:
