Lens Test: Nikon 24mm f/1.4G ED AF-S Nikkor
Nikon's first 24mm f/1.4 lens ever is also its first AF-S wide-angle prime, incorporating the familiar AF-S package: a Silent Wave Motor, instant start/stop autofocus action, and the M/A focusing mode that lets you fine-tune focus manually while in autofocus mode.

Nikon 24mm f/1.4G AF-S Lens
While I hope to create a full Nikon 24mm f/1.4G AF-S Lens, my first priority is to include results from this lens in the lens comparison tools available on the site. This page currently exists because it is required by the database and content management systems for me to post information and...

Nikon's Ultimate Wide-Angle Lens
Prime lenses are a dangeorusly expensive addiction. From the moment you snap one onto your SLR/DSLR, fire off a shot, and revel in the Barry White smooth BOKEH , you're hooked. As a matter of fact, just leave the ultra-wide zooms at home.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED Lens JAA131DA review
At $2,200, the expectations for this lens have to be high. The 24mm ƒ/1.4G almost reaches them. Certainly, stopped down, the lens produces exceptional results, but as the main feature of the lens is its extremely wide aperture - ƒ/1.4 - we imagine the lens will spend much of its time here,...

The most awesome focal length for FX landscapes, and the next most awesome on DX (1.5x 24mm =36mm) . I doubt anything better will be made in the next 50 years.
Pros:
- Optical quality at all apertures (sharpness, colour rendition, bokeh, resistance to flare)
- Lightweight
- Perfect for night lanscapes and astrophotography
- Really good on DX for pet photos
Cons:
- Price
- 1800 euros, really
- Oww, hurts

Nikon 24mm f/1.4G ED AF-S Nikkor review by dhale001
I use this lens for low light and low light action on a Nikon D800E or D3200. Perfect for "no flash" indoor parties and night time street photography. The best 24mm ever made by anyone.
Pros:
- Sharp
- very fast
Cons:
- None

Nikon 24mm f/1.4G ED AF-S Nikkor
This lens is a little overhyped. I've used the Canon 24mm f/1.4L II, and the Nikon is really only slightly better in some aspects as seen in the post below. I wouldn't switch systems for this lens. The reason you buy this lens is for the f/1.4.
Pros:
- f/1.4
- sharp*
- gorgeous bokeh
- unusually thick lens hood
- solid build
- great feeling MF ring
Cons:
- *sharpness at f/1.4 is a little overhyped
- AF sometimes is slightly inconsistent
- CA regardless of aperture

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.4G ED
The AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.4G ED ($1,999.95) is a fast wide-angle lens for Nikon SLRs . It's the widest f/1.4 prime in the Nikkor lens family, and can focus close so you can capture images with a shallow depth of field.
Pros:
- Wide f/1.4 maximum aperture
- Captures crisp images
- 9.8-inch close focus
- Full-frame coverage
Cons:
- Dim corners at wide aperture
- Edge softness at f/1.4
- Shows some barrel distortion
- Not stabilized
- Pricey
