1 hour trying to install it on my own; 1 and a half hours on the phone with Netgear; then it was declared faulty. Now finding it difficult to return it. Am 3 hours behind with my work which I'll have to make up tonight in unpaid overtime. Nightmare! Take care when buying this product!

Not really a Full-Fledged WiFi Range Extender

* Requires user to manually switch WiFi networks when traveling from primary WiFi domain to "Range Extended" WiFi domain (and vice versa).

* Compact size

* Creates separate SSID broadcast WiFi domains; one for 2.4Ghz and another for 5Ghz frequencies

Exactly What Is Needed

Worked very well for the extension of my WiFi. Going through brick walls and from one end of the house to the other. Over 100 ft. into the end of a 3 car garage. Linked well with my Netgear R7000 the latest and newest router. The key is using the same brand for both.

This device had fantastic promise. You could configure the dual band antennas to say ... use 5ghz to talk back to the primary router, and offer 2.4ghz to client devices. Great idea! What you couldn't do, was simply extend your single SSID with the product. By default it wants you to create...

Doesn't do the trick

I have a Panasonic p65vt30 plasma TV. I also have 1 gig of wifi from ATT. I use the net gear nighthawk Tri-band router to produce the wifi signal. It is captive to the router ATT insists I have with their UVerse wifi. I bought the net gear extender connect to the TV and use an Ethernet cable.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Extender (WN3500RP)

Home networking should be simple, right? Plug in your ISP's free wireless router and you ought to be good to go. But it isn't always that straightforward, and though we're frequently promised superfast speeds and best-ever wireless signals , a few niggling issues can still crop up from time to time.

The Netgear WiFi Extender now works great but we had trouble getting it set up. Not as easy as advertised. And, after it was set up it didn't work perfectly for a couple of days. Now it's doing the job well.

Impractical

Bought this to extend my wifi to my garden cabin at the bottom of my garden but it would need to be located in the middle of the garden to work.
