Disappointed
Probably ok if all you do is surf the web. If you want more than that, you appear to be out of luck. User support is absolutely terrible.
Pros:
- Seems to be fast and handle high data rates
Cons:
- Preset protocol parameters violate protocol specifications
- No way to examine or reset these

Good router
After doing a lot of research about signal drops I found out the changing the 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz wi-fi connections to channels 9 and 161 respectively did the trick for my wireless system making it interference and drop off free.
Pros:
- Great range
- Easy to setup with the NETGEAR Genie application (updating the firmware to the latest version easy too)
- No signal drops in my case
- I have 9 devices connected to this router
- Iphone
Cons:
- None so far

Netgear R6300 and Buffalo AirStation WZR-D1800H, the fastest 802.11ac WiFi routers in town
Netgear announced what was supposedly the world's first 802.11ac WiFi router weeks ago, R6300. The dual band gigabit WiFi router delivers internet speeds of up to three times faster than 802.11n. Buffalo beat them at their own race by announcing and releasing AirStation WZR-D1800H right away.

As the first router of a new generation, the Netgear R6300 can definitely be called a success. Granted, 1.3 gbps is still quite a way away, but there are clear performance gains compared to 802.11n.

About a decade ago it was reasonably normal for consumers to have one, maybe two PC per household. Often they would share the same internet connection and often the same wiring with more complex setup's really being for advanced users.

The 802.11ac standard is here, primed and ready to blaze a trail over the air, so we're certainly seeing more and more routers capable of it. NETGEAR's R6300 is among the first routers with the 5G Wi-Fi standard, but is being first in line means it gets to be the fastest router today?
Pros:
- Great 5GHz performance
- Dual-band
- 802.11ac support
- Easy to use
Cons:
- 2.4GHz output isn't very good
- Bulky design

Netgear R6300 Dual Band Gigabit WiFi Router Review
With high speed internet fast becoming the standard across not only the UK but most of the connected world, its great to see a new line of routers that can not only handle the high speed connections on a wired basis but also over wireless as well.

Netgear R6300 review
The R6300 is Netgear's first 802.11ac router and has quite dramatic styling, looking like a glossy black slab on its side but it's also very large for a router. A white illuminated logo graces the centre, with three unobtrusive status lights along the bottom.
