Netgear R6300
The R6300 is quite a beast of a router, and it certainly gives a promise of things to come. While we score it highly, we'd hold off on purchasing anything 802.11ac until client chips are more widespread - by then, there'll likely be something even better around.
Pros:
- Incredible performance
- Supports 2.4GHz
- 5GHz n and ac simultaneously
- Gigabit WAN
- Can set up via mobile devices
Cons:
- Huge and bulky
- Although they should be along soon
- no 802.11ac wireless adapters are available yet to take advantage of it
- Mobile app needs a lot of finessing
- Netgear's router UI still needs work

Netgear R6300 Wireless AC Dual Band Gigabit Router Review
It's a fool's game trying to win a race against technology and stay ahead of the curve. At best, you'll end up spending buckets of cash and still fall behind the first time you blink.
Pros:
- Solid Performance
- USB x 2
- Genie Dashboard
- Strong Signal
- Parental Controls and Scheduling
Cons:
- Bulky Design
- Ahead of the Curve
- No USB 3.0

The pipe just got wider
I was in the market to upgrade my router so I decided to bite the bullet and get the latest and greatest. So far, it has not disappointed. Doing the same speed test on Speakeasy from my local area, my download speed with a Netgear wireless N adapter WN111 v2 went from around 12-15 mbps on the old...

Pros:
- SetupCustomize
Cons:
- Finding cable IP

Better Coverage & Faster Speeds
Although the price was higher than I wanted to spend, I bought this router because I had weak coverage with my old N+ router. That is no longer a problem and my desktop computer which is wired, is also getting better speeds.
Pros:
- Better coverage
Cons:
- Price

Exceeded my expectations!
Great product - provided the extra security I was looking for vs. the wireless router provided by my DSL provider, with an added bonus of a significantly stronger signal and therefore wider range of access.

NETGEAR R6300 Dual Band Wireless 802.11AC Router + 4-port Switch
These Broadband providers that provide you with a fibre router are not doing themselves a favor because their WiFi fibre router cannot deal with the speeds that having fiber offers. That's where this little beauty comes into play and wow what a difference.
Pros:
- finally getting the true speed out of our fibre
Cons:
- nothing

No problems
I just purchased this router, after reading the reviews for it as well as others. I'm pleased to say that I had no problems at all setting it up right out of the box. I simply plugged it in, connected it to my modem, and I was in to the router online setup immediately.
