Microsoft Surface Pro 5 (i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB, SSD, Win 10 Tablet) - Excellent review
Microsoft Surface Pro 7: The Surface Pro 7 is still a fine 2-in-1 but this is a disappointing update- Good value keyboard, Finally has USB Type-C, Tried and tested 2-in-1 design
- Middling battery life, Core i7 model disappointing
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 (i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB, SSD, Win 10 Tablet) - Excellent review
We’re confused as to why Microsoft didn’t give this the Surface Pro 5 moniker, since it only received the largest improvement on a Surface we’ve seen so far. Despite losing the included Surface Pen, the Microsoft Surface Pro 2017’s massive leap forward helps it retain our coveted Recommended award.- Hugely improved battery life, Much better Surface Pen, Comfier, punchier Type Cover
- Surface Pen pulled from package, Only Core i7 can challenge A10X
Great computer, handwriting recognition needs improvement
I purchased an extra power supply, docking station, display port to 4K, and pen. My only issue has been when writing. Stray marks causes pauses in recognition. It happens if you use your finger or the pen. The only solution is to exit the program and renter.
Nice bit of kit
"Bought this for my son add he needed something lightweight but fully functional with office 365. It is! Reasonable battery life and seems to be getting better now he's charged it a few times and isn't fiddling with it as much. He loves the stylus which we bought separately.- Lightweight
- Powerful
- Stable
- Good display
Surface Complete - 45 Day limit
* I would like to first note that have put this review under the seller experience; however, that option is not available, since the "seller" is Microsoft/Amazon. I have purchased more than 15 Surface devices and have yet to use any warranties. These are very solid devices (5-star).
Great device with major glitch
Screen freezes and flickers! Makes it impossible to use during the fault.
Microsoft Surface Pro (2017)
Microsoft's dream of merging the laptop with the tablet is realising bit by bit. The Surface Pro is a device that screams confidently that the dream has already come true. Should we pay heed though- A touchscreen display par excellence
- Crisp audio
- Magical accessories that complete the Surface Pro
- Lukewarm performance
- Cumbersome to handle at times
- Those magical accessories are expensive
Overpriced for what it is, but a great machine
I chose the Surface Pro because I needed a completely silent computer. Nothing else on Earth would've persuaded me to pay this much money for this very average spec, which isn't even a laptop as you have to buy all the expensive extras to turn it into one!
A funny thing happened as we were evaluating the latest iteration of Microsoft's , a now iconic that the company describes as " " despite its tablet-first design. A rumor emerged suggesting would phase out its Surface line within the next couple of years.
Microsoft Surface Pro (2017)
There was no shortage of question marks when Microsoft announced plans to launch its own line of Surface PCs, but credit where it's due, in the space of five years, Surface has become a benchmark for others in the industry.- Truly versatile form factor
- Laptop performance in a tablet
- Choice of excellent accessories
- Incredibly quiet
- if not silent
- Delightful 3:2 display
- Good battery life
- Premium price tag
- Surface Pen no longer included
- Lacks USB Type-C
