It's been a week with the new Pro - Microsoft's part-tablet/part-laptop hybrid machine - and I already find myself looking longingly at the . It's not that the isn't a good and capable machine (it is), it's just that, well, the Laptop is much better for my needs - and, I'm sure, the needs of most...
This Is the Best Surface Ever Made, But It's Still No Laptop
The guts of a laptop packed into a tablet.- This is the best hybrid you can buy
- It is still not a laptop
Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 review: still the best Windows laptop/tablet hybrid, but who is it for?
To me, the Surface Pro seems like a proof of concept. Can a very powerful Windows laptop be turned into a tablet? Turns out it can. Now, it's all very well me saying, 'I can't see the point of this for most people, why wouldn't you just buy a proper laptop or a proper tablet?- Superb screen
- Good battery life
- Undeniably versatile
- Expensive at higher specs
- Keyboard costs extra and is poor
- Stylus costs extra again
- although it is
- admittedly
- excellent
Still a Pro, despite an unadventurous update
Microsoft's flagship Surface Pro gets an extremely conservative update, but better battery life keeps it the gold standard of Windows hybrid PCs -- for now.- The Surface Pro gets better performance and battery life from its CPU update, and most models are now fanless. The excellent kickstand is even more flexible.
- Minimal redesign leaves out USB-C and Thunderbolt options. The Surface Pen stylus is no longer included by default, and new keyboard covers are more expensive than ever. Still not great for lap use.

Now with the latest Surface, everyone is asking: ‘'Did Microsoft have to do it again?'' At first, we didn't understand…- Newer seventh-generation processors
- Better, prolonged battery life (13 hours)
- Intuitive Surface Pen and Type Cover
- Versatile motion on kickstand
- Lacks USB-C or Thunderbolt 3
- Type Cover and Pen Sold separately
Surface Pro (2017) vs Surface Pro 4
We explain what's new in the 2017 Surface Pro and how it compares to the Surface Pro 4
Microsoft Surface Pro 4
The Microsoft Surface line of tablets has been fairly divisive; for every evangelist there are plenty of skeptics who doubt the device can truly replace a laptop. Microsoft is forging on with the fourth iteration regardless, building the Surface Pro 4 ($1,299 as tested) on the strongest points of...- Sharp, vibrant touch display
- Full-friction, adjustable kickstand
- Improved Surface Pen and Type Cover from the previous iteration
- Strong battery life in testing
- Pricey
- Type Cover sold separately
- Still only one USB port
Wow
I purchased this for my son. He is an engineering student and said it blows the Apple ipads and Apple laptops out of the water! He is running Windows 10 and said it is easy to use and works great as a tablet or full computer.
will replace your laptop and Tablet....
this is the next generation of laptop and means you can do away with your tablet. super fast, responsive to touch with no lag. only disappointment is that the keyboard is not included which at that price you would expect so budget for an additional 100 if you do want this to be a laptop or else it...
BEST WINDOWS CREATION EVER
Yo get it, it can replace your computer guys. Windows 10 on it is crazy amazing, like it was made for this tablet/computer.
