That's not to say Avengers is a bad game. It is a very PRETTY game, with some TIDY ENOUGH animations, that unfortunately get stuck under the grind of games as a service. The online mechanic and necessity of the grind to improve your current favourite Avenger stymies the potential of a “good game”. And when characters are locked behind their “narrative moment” (a.k.a release for the title), it doesn't really hope to excite players, but rather tap into their fandom. Hopefully in 6 months time, and with the release of the next generation of consoles, we'll see the true intent of this game and finally feel the impact of what it means to “Assemble”.
If you are into Marvel and always wanted to be one of Avengers than it is a great game, especially with continuing support from developers and releasing new characters.You don't have to spend real money as you can unlock skins just by playing game and completing challenges.But the game still need a lot of work and bug fixing
A classy single-player campaign, but its endgame needs some work. Destiny it ain't – at least not yet.
Looks great; Decent brawling mechanics; Superb storyline; Great new Avenger in Kamala; Satisfying superhero abilities;
Too keen to encourage microtransactions; Too much grinding in endgame; Not enough snap on ranged attacks; Gear system could do with rebalancing;
Marvel’s Avengers has proven to be a pleasant surprise, even if its live service identity arguably hinders the true potential of its world, story and characters. Engaging combat and rewarding progression have established a solid foundation for Crystal Dynamics to build upon with new heroes and scenarios in the months and years to come.
A varied, enjoyable cast of characters at launch; Each hero plays differently with its own path of progression; A loving homage to the comic universe that’s been crafted with care ; Establishes a solid foundation for Crystal Dynamics to build upon;
The narrative feels disjointed and underbaked; Mission structure can feel oddly confusing and repetitive ; Live service formula feels detrimental at times ;
This is fun like all the other Lego games but I had to resort to looking online for help on certain levels as I wasn't sure where to go. Lots of characters and levels to complete with a great number of world's to explore with missions to do. Has kept us entertained for days.
B-movie by name and B-movie by nature, but there's still enjoyment to be had with the endearingly rubbish enemies and fun but vapid combat.
Competent action with some very enjoyable boss battles and amusing homages to old sci-fi movies; The tower-climbing concept is used in some interesting ways
There's nothing very unique about the gameplay, and the level and set piece design is workmanlike; Director commentary often isn't very funny
Fun game. My husband and I often play with our 9 year old who loves it. Nice challenge to the adventure and he loves unlocking new characters. Looks like we still have pretty far to go, but so far, pretty cool.
lego marvel. good
I love the Lego game franchise. The Avengers game has been great so far. The number ood playable characters is amazing. As an old school comics fan I'm stunned to see classic heroes I'm not even familiar with. I also love the addition of dlc content making the game even bigger!
