Are you one of those people that can't stand it when other people one-up you on gear? Are you someone that has a terminal case of upgraditus? Do you stand in line for hours just to get the latest iDevice and then run to work to show it off to all your jealous friends?

Usually Skype requires you to sit at a computer. Logitech's TV Cam HD allows you to stay comfortably seated on your couch or comfy chair: it has been designed to work with a television set. It works very well, though we had some nits to pick as well.

The Logitech TV Cam brings great-looking 720p HD video calling to your HDTV, but requires a $300 Logitech Revue set-top box and a fast Internet connection.

The Logitech TV Cam HD brings Logitech into a market that is highly desired, but yet poorly served: Skype on the big screen. It is obvious that a lot of people would love using Skype on their TV, and the proliferation large and cheap LCD TVs only makes this idea more pervasive.

Unless this is a one-off problem, I was able to get 5mbs on my laptop without an issue in the hospital with 5 bars. Yet, this device was not able to connect to the internet well enough to even complete the setup.

I purchased this for my 80yr old grandparents and they absolutely love it. They have not had any issues out of it and are able to use it very well. The picture is very clear on both ends. It's a little expensive, but very easy to use and good quality.

Our Granddaughter was born in November and we were excited to see an ad for this new TV Webcam-perfect Christmas gifts. We have been thrilled with the quality. We look forward to seeing the milestones as our grandbaby grows.

Video chat may be the bastion of tablets and smartphones, but that's only useful for talking to one or two people at a time. To get a real family chat going, you need a wider lens and a camera placed further than arm's length.

This has to be one of those technologies you would have loved to see arrive on the market years ago. While useful, I would imagine this kind of functionality will soon come standard on new TVs arriving on the market.

Since the telephone first rose to prominence there has been chatter about the video phone. BT tried it years ago before there was even broadband - and before there was even ISDN - and it was always a flop.
