Logitech G502 X Plus review: gamer-friendly glow-up review

Optical switches are slick; Buttons are comprehensive, and customisable; Great battery life with RGB off; decent longevity with it switched on;

Weight customisation has been ditched; Shape might not suit your grip style; Premium price;

Logitech G502 X Plus Review

The Logitech G502 X Plus ($159) is the company’s new top-of-the-line gaming mouse, continuing the legacy of the G502 family with a familiar design. It's expensive, but you get a lot for your money, including the addition of wireless connectivity over the standard G502 X, and RGB lighting over the dark G502 X Lightspeed. It does feel like it’s missing a few perks that one might expect at this high price, and its fancy tracking and smorgasbord of buttons are held back slightly by a propensity for misclicks. As much as it nails the fundamentals, it just falls short in a crowded field of competitors asking top dollar, including the excellent Roccat Kone XP Air. The Growing G502 Household Gets a New Head The Logitech G502 X Plus is carrying a torch that was lit the better part of a decade ago. Tweaks to the styling, buttons, and hardware of the G502 family have seen seen various members shift slightly in appearance from generation to generation, but the G502 X Plus plainly has its root...

The Logitech G502 X Plus mostly looks, feels, and works like a premium wireless gaming mouse should, but its clicks can be finnicky and it's missing some high-end features.

Excellent wireless performance and tracking; Snappy switches; A ton of buttons

Expensive; Some missing features for the price; Too easy to misclick

Incredible

This mouse is absolutely amazing, straight out of the box its just such an attractive and sleek design, weighing at around that 106g I was a little nervous that it may be too heavy…NOT AT ALL! the weight is perfect not over bearing, I do have petite hands and I find every single button easy to reach .The fact you can swap around or completely remove the sniper button is a fantastic design. RGB lighting looks incredible with its easy to use software. I highly recommend this mouse if you don't mind paying that little extra for those extra features and quality. The mouse itself is not big and bulky, very comfy to use, just blown away!

Awesome purchase.

This mouse is great. The build quality and feel is superb. It’s very comfortable. I had problems loading the Logitech G Hub software because it was conflicting with other software I had running, so once I found the conflicting software and removed it it works a treat. The Logitech app is required in order for it to register the changes to DPI so bear that in mind that it’s not ‘plug and play’ like a more simple model. This mouse replaced a Corsair mouse which only lasted 2 years, so I’m back to using Logitech again which has proved incredibly reliable in the past.

Nice mouse, horrible scroll wheel

I recieved this mouse today as a replacement for my faulty Corsiar M65 Ultra Wireless. My first impressions are that it's okay. It feels plasticky and a little flimsy. The side buttons have a nice click and feel solid, the main left and right click feel a little light and flimsy but work fine. The scroll wheel though, feels horrible. It rattles when you scroll and when you middle click, it feels horribly mushy and wiggles to the left. It feels like a scroll wheel that you would get on a $20 mouse, not a mouse that has an RRP of $349.99. It's honestly pretty disappointing. I have a logitech G402 that I use at work and the scroll wheel on that mouse feels 1000× times more solid and premium both for middle click and scrolling. I am baffled that Logitech put this horribly cheap scroll wheel in this mouse. My initial impression is that while the mouse works fine, it feels miles cheaper than the Corsair M65 Ultra did. I would avoid this mouse if I were you, simply because of the scroll wheel.

Excellent Mouse That Can Share Lightspeed Reciever

The Logitech Lightspeed mouse has undergone a fantastic upgrade, allowing it to work with just one receiver alongside the keyboard. Additionally, it now charges through USB C.
