Logitech G430 Headset Review

Logitech has become an icon in the gaming peripheral industry with their G-series line of keyboards, mice, and headsets. The company recently overhauled the G-series by giving it a new look, as well as announcing a slew of new gaming accessories to add to the line.

Logitech G430 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset Review

Surround sound… done well and properly, it's a treat to the ears. Done poorly, it's an affront. Logitech's new G430 promises to deliver 7.1 Dolby Headphone surround to satisfy your gaming and entertainment audio needs. How well does it come to hitting the mark? Read on and find out!

Ergonomics are superb; Fair price; Attractive presentation – LOVE the bright blue accents; Excellent build quality – cable and sleeves; especially; are top-notch; LGS (Logitech Gaming Software) is effective at dialing out some of the default settings' inferior sound quality; Very good performance...

Default sound quality through the USB sound card dongle is harsh; cold; and lacking in power

Great Headset when it works.

I would wait to buy this product until Logitech fixes the driver issues. Otherwise it sounds great if you do not use a VOIP program while playing a game.

Looks great; Microphone sounds great; It has great 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound with the drivers; Has 3.5mm jacks; It is highly noise canceling so you can't hear outside noises; The drivers look nice and have good control

There is an issue with the drivers and VOIP programs like Mumble where if you are playing a game and using a VOIP program; The drivers will cut out all sound and you will have to unplug and replug the USB and restart the game and VOIP program

Great for the Price!

After having to replace my Steel Series headset (which I loved, however after a few years the mic stop working) I saw the reviews on this and the price was attractive. Opening the package the first thing I noticed was the blue cloth like material around the ear cups which is pretty soft and squishy...

Fits any size head; comfortable material; good quality outgoing volume

Flimsy Microphone; Not as comfortable for long use

Logitech G430 7.1 Surround Gaming Headset

It's finally here. After being blown away by the stereo audio peformance on the crimson-clad G230 headphones from , we're back with the 7.1 surround version. They're not colored in the same sexy red-on-black motif.

Amazing surround performance effectively envelops the user; Comfortable; USB adapter included for additional connection options; Software utilities offer added tweak options; Rotating ear cushions lay flat; Great price

True potential requires off-board sound processing (ie soundcard or after-market amplifier); No optical connection and thus outpaced by Creative's Wireless; Look is too familiar

in my day so I've gotten pretty familiar with how they are. With the return of Logitech's G series, they have released a few new headsets that remind me of the ones of old. Today, I have the Logitech G430 gaming headset with me and I put it through its paces with some games and tunes.

Logitech G430 Gaming Headset Review

There are three variations of headsets gamers desire: the cheap ones just for console chat, expensive, surround-sound multipurpose headsets, and those falling somewhere in between the two extremes.

Mediocre at best.

If you're a stickler for sound stay away from these. They sound horrible. Really hollow, quiet and tinny. They're lightweight but are still so uncomfortable. Within minutes the top of your head and ears will hurt.

Both headsets sound good enough, but they don't have the same range and emphasis. The Logitech G430 has a very full bass, but lacks detail in the mid-range and higher tones. The Plantronics Gamecom 780 is the opposite, with more detail in the higher regions, but not as much bass.

LOOOOVE IT

Pro: It's a lot more comfortable than a lot of other headsets around the same price. The surround sound is incredible when you listen to something that has surround sound. Con: - It is too pricey.
