If you want the best positioning audio around i have to say that neither the G430 nor any 7.1 virtual surround sound headset can offer that and as a matter of fact in the case of some headsets i really suggest turning that option off when playing games.

Pro: It's a lot more comfortable than a lot of other headsets around the same price. The surround sound is incredible when you listen to something that has surround sound. Con: - It is too pricey.
Both headsets sound good enough, but they don't have the same range and emphasis. The Logitech G430 has a very full bass, but lacks detail in the mid-range and higher tones. The Plantronics Gamecom 780 is the opposite, with more detail in the higher regions, but not as much bass.
If you're a stickler for sound stay away from these. They sound horrible. Really hollow, quiet and tinny. They're lightweight but are still so uncomfortable. Within minutes the top of your head and ears will hurt.
