Slower than de kindle, fragile and bad warranty

I had a kindle paperwhite and had been stolen in a plane so I was frustrated and decided to buy a kodo glo hd instead. At the beginning I was a little disappointed by the interface not as user friendly as the kindle.

Between the lines

I've had this for just over a month now, and I'm really enjoying it. I did a firmware update, via calibre add-ons, which improved the page turning from slight delay to instant, and transfer all books with calibre too (hated the Kobo program).

Kobo Glo e-reader

Excellent device - good to download free e-books from local library and other websites. Works well in all lighting conditions. Very convenient way to read when unable to visit library.

Perfect!

Excellent purchase, I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a great ereader! I wouldnt buy books anymore. The definition is amazing, just as a sheet of paper, the lightning is also easy to set up and you have a great reading experience in day light or at night.

The Glo HD competes well with Amazon's latest Kindle Paperwhite and the top-of-the-line Voyage, in terms of price and specs. It's your best alterna-reader if you're not committed to the Amazon ecosystem.

Built-in lighting and sharp resolution; Smaller and lighter than Kindle Paperwhite and Voyage; Superb font controls and onscreen keyboard; Competitive pricing; EPub support

Cannot tap Amazon's ecosystem; and the synergies thereof (such as Amazon Prime; No MicroSD slot; in contrast to other Kobos

Kobo Glo HD review

I'm a big fan of not going to sleep with a headache. Or, more specifically, not going to sleep with an LCD-induced headache. For years, I told myself that reading on my tablet would not affect my sleep, and therefore not my waking life, and that continued until I began reviewing this ereader.

Kobo Glo HD

As the main competitor to the Amazon Kindle range of eBookreadersKobo has released it KoboGlo HD product. Arriving with the claim of being "the highest quality eReader at the best possible price", the KoboGlo HD is, presumably, the company's direct challenger to the Amazon Kindle Voyage, a device I...

Kobo Glo HD e-reader gives Kindle Voyage a run for its money

There are plenty of reasons to like Kobo , but the most compelling may be the simple fact that the company isn't Amazon . As chief competitors like Barnes & Noble and Sony have faded or altogether disappeared from the market, the plucky Canadian company (granted, one currently owned by a giant...

Kobo Glo HD review

Kobo has worked its way through the pack to become the clear competitor to Amazon's dominance in eBook readers. For a long time, Amazon not only had the best range of books and the lowest prices, it also had great hardware at competitive prices - a tough act to follow.

Kobo Glo HD review review

Super-sharp screen; Grippy back; Good battery life;

Kobo store lags behind Amazon; Not all that pretty, is it?; A bit slower than the top Kindles;
