Hands-on: Killzone: Shadowfall

Killzone: Shadowfall takes place seven years after the end of Killzone 3. The Helghast have moved to a new planet, and everything is peaceful.

Killzone: Shadow Fall review

Killzone: Shadow Fall offers up incredible presentation and a better-than-average campaign narrative that's unfortunately more boring to play than it should be. The exciting multiplayer mode injects some greatness into an ultimately good game.

Killzone: Shadow Fall Review

The future of first-person shooter looks an awful lot like the past. (7.5 out of 10) Pros Beautiful Worlds Intriguing setting Cons Beyond the graphics, nothing you haven't seen before The story is barebones One of the legitimate knocks against the PlayStation 4 is its underwhelming launch lineup.

Beautiful Worlds; Intriguing setting

Beyond the graphics; nothing you haven't seen before; The story is barebones

Killzone: Shadow Fall is a gorgeous, average soldier in the PS4′s launch unit (review)

Killzone: Shadow Fall is a pretty game, gorgeous even. But the demand for moments to punctuate trailers or demos forced a sacrifice of story that it never quite recovers from. The OWL will find its place in history as one of the few controller-based mechanics to actually entertain, while the time...

Like most set-piece-based shooters released over the past five years, Shadow Fall knows exactly how gorgeous it can be; Guerrilla Games' in-house Umbra3 engine is put to some serious stress tests here, with a story packed with explosions and scenic vistas.

Even with all of the god rays and water effects, Killzone: Shadow Fall is not a perfect visual package; Dust particles flow charmingly through the air up close, but from a distance look like a hive of buzzing insects.

Killzone: Shadow Fall

Killzone has become, over its nine years, part of the PlayStation's heritage. Since its origins on PlayStation 2, it has spawned onto five different versions of Sony's machines, three console and two handheld, and with each release it's steadily improved and refined its recipe.

Tactical combat as to its FPS core; Stunning visuals; Great dialogue & voice acting; Occasional poor mission scripting; Weak plot; Periods of frustrating difficulty

Killzone Shadow Fall - Review

First things first - if you only buy one game to show off your new PlayStation 4 , make it Killzone Shadow Fall . The latest in Guerrilla Games' series of science-fiction shooters is a graphical wonder that really has the next-gen difference, and from a technical point of view it's head and...

A true next-gen graphical showcase that will have you gasping in wonder; Strong; substantial campaign mode with huge levels and tactical depth; Solid and highly customisable multiplayer

Doesn't quite deliver on the promise of its early levels; Storyline is quite dour and not as smart as it seems to think it is; Some turret and sky-diving set-pieces are frustrating and badly designed

Killzone: Shadow Fall PlayStation 4 Review

Killzone was one of the hottest games for the PlayStation 2, and the epic sequel that was Killzone 2 followed it with a great force. The series had a slow, gritty and powerful vibe that is a far cry from the frantic run and gun of games like Call of Duty and I absolutely love it.

Campaign offers great story and a good 9-10 hours gameplay on normal difficulty; Graphics are some of the best the PS4 has to offer; Online multiplayer is competitive and entertaining; Good integrated use of the touch pad

Quick time events are dull and tacked on; Steep learning curve may put off some players

Review: Killzone Shadow Fall

Set on the planet Vekta, some 30 years after the events of The Second Extrasolar War (Killzone 3). The conflicting factions of the Vektans and Helghast must co-exist in a somewhat cold war scenario.

In the Zone | Killzone: Shadow Fall Review

The original Killzone was released back in 2004 for the PS2 , with subsequent games being released on the PS3 and Vita. Killzone has remained popular with each release, and now two console generations later, the series is still going strong and remains a popular title among Playstation fans.

Gorgeous Graphics; Fun Gameplay

So-So Characters; Okay Enemy A.I
