Killzone: Shadow Fall
The long wait is over and we get our very first taste of next-generation gaming, with Sony's PS4 flagship title, Killzone: Shadow Fall. Having seen the game in action both during the E3 and at Gamescom, we were more than eager to finally go through the entire package.
Pros:
- It's jaw-dropping gorgeous
- has a really unique and fun implementation of the touchpad
- and
- like its predecessors
- has a great multiplayer experience that includes customizable matches
Cons:
- Forced script
- unintuitive objectives
- padded length in the final missions thanks to way too many busy-work tasks
- and an ungodly frustrating final boss

Killzone: Shadow Fall
Very few games have had a history as colorful as Killzone . Originally touted as a Halo killer for the PlayStation 2, the game had no chance to live up to the hefty standards given to it. It was an average shooter, though that's not what was expected of it, and was therefore considered a flop.

Killzone: Shadow Fall review
Killzone: Shadow Fall uses the PS4's hardware to offer a very pretty game, but strip that away and it's just like many others before it: a serviceable shooter with an underdeveloped storyline and spotty AI. That doesn't make it bad, just a little boring.
Pros:
- Beautiful Worlds
- Intriguing setting
- Multiplayer customization
Cons:
- Beyond the graphics
- nothing you haven't seen before
- The story is barebones
- Generally forgettable

While it may not be worth buying a whole new console for on its own, Killzone: Shadow Fall is a solid addition to the franchise. It doesn't move the series forward in any remarkable ways, but the foundation stands strong, and hopefully represents a positive glimpse at Killzone 's future.

Killzone: Shadow Fall Review
Killzone has always had a message hidden in the battles and bloodshed on other worlds, shining a light on our own struggles and the futility of war. The developers at Guerrilla Games have drawn from world wars, past and present, to fuel the fires of conflict between Vektan and Helghan forces, but my...

- Damages of war make a powerful message
- Fully customizable multiplayer
- Excellent net code
- Planned support
- Console exclusive nationalism

Killzone: Shadow Fall (PS4) Review
Let's get something out of the way real quick: I'm awful at FPS games. I mean, just terrible. I grew up in an era when a "shooter" meant you held the Nintendo Zapper in your hand, or pumped quarters into a machine that let you use the revolver on coin-op Hogan's Alley.

Killzone: Shadow Fall review – fourth time?lucky?
Cleverly progressive one moment and tediously predictable the next, next gen Killzone has all the same strengths and flaws as the older games – just now with even better graphics.
Pros:
- Great graphics and some interesting ideas, particularly the more open world style levels
- Multiplayer seems promising, with some excellent maps and custom game modes
Cons:
- Extremely uneven story campaign, with ineffective set pieces and a curious lack of enemies
- Boring plot and characters
- The OWL is underused and the weapons uninspired

Killzone: Shadow Fall
Parents need to know Killzone: Shadow Fall is an M-rated, futuristic, sci-fi shooter with a constant stream of gritty, bloody gunfights. Characters frequently die screaming in pain, and one scene depicts brutal torture via an electric prod.

Killzone: Shadow Fall Review: Ambitious steps in right and wrong directions
In its attempt to iterate on Killzone trademarks, Shadow Fall comes up short of greatness, but has enough tight action and expanded lore to please series enthusiasts.
Pros:
- Visceral
- polished shooting
- Breathtaking graphics and art direction
- Well-realized setting and universe
Cons:
- Vague level design with poor signposting
- Lonely single-player missions
- Flight and freefall sections
