Commonplace co-op.
What's your favorite kind of co-op shooter? The ultra-competitive, team-based thrills of a Battlefield Domination match? The wave-based panic of Gears of War 's Horde mode? Or maybe you're partial to the strategic gore-fest that is a game of Left 4 Dead ?- Defending capture points is fun when working together as a team
- Technically impressive visuals
- Core banking mechanic becomes repetitive
- Bosses are dull and a wasted opportunity
- Blends many ideas together but excels at few of them
- Character classes and power-ups lack punch
Killzone Shadow Fall: Intercept review
Horde mode: the enduring last gasp of the ailing shooter. It gives the multiplayer team the chance to leverage the AI of a campaign into its own mode. No need to worry about weapon balance or spawn camping or any of that other nightmarish stuff that separates the CODs from the dead fish in the...
Killzone: Shadow Fall is a gorgeous, average soldier in the PS4′s launch unit (review)
Killzone: Shadow Fall is a pretty game, gorgeous even. But the demand for moments to punctuate trailers or demos forced a sacrifice of story that it never quite recovers from. The OWL will find its place in history as one of the few controller-based mechanics to actually entertain, while the time...- Like most set-piece-based shooters released over the past five years, Shadow Fall knows exactly how gorgeous it can be
- Guerrilla Games' in-house Umbra3 engine is put to some serious stress tests here, with a story packed with explosions and scenic vistas.
- Even with all of the god rays and water effects, Killzone: Shadow Fall is not a perfect visual package
- Dust particles flow charmingly through the air up close, but from a distance look like a hive of buzzing insects.
Killzone: Shadow Fall (PS4) - Review
The PlayStation 4 is finally here and everyone is wondering what that one exclusive title is that'll make it worth the purchase. No, Resogun doesn't count because it's not a retail release! Duh!
Beauty And The Beast
If the term ‘mixed-bag' hadn't been invented yet, it's precise meaning would have been defined forever more as ‘Killzone: Shadow Fall.' As in, ‘the film was pretty funny but my god were the action sequences awful, it was a bit of a Killzone: Shadow Fall.'- Awesome sound
- At times stunning to look at
- Satisfying combat
- Repetitive levels
- OWL not used enough
- Not enough original ideas
Killzone: Shadow Fall Review | Stunning But Soulless
The Short Version: The first couple of hours of Killzone: Shadow Fall hint towards a game that might just play as well as it looks. And it looks phenomenal. But sadly, the game falters and falls rather quickly, crushed under the weight of its own ambitions, and it retreats to the safe banality of...- It's absolutely gorgeous
- No
- seriously
- this game is like ecstasy for the eyeballs
- Opening couple of levels are really well-worked
- Interesting setting and subject matter is full of potential and promise
- OWL drone is a great addition
- Warzones-oriented multiplayer as solid as ever
- and...
- The potential and ambition shown in Chapter 2 is never built upon
- To much reliance on wave-based padding in the game's second half
- Infuriating instafail setpieces ruin spectacle
- Enemy AI is pretty awful
- Enemy types and weapon variety leave much to be desired
- So much potential
- such inconsistent...
Killzone: Shadow Fall
Parents need to know Killzone: Shadow Fall is an M-rated, futuristic, sci-fi shooter with a constant stream of gritty, bloody gunfights. Characters frequently die screaming in pain, and one scene depicts brutal torture via an electric prod.
Killzone: Shadow Fall review
During its 2013 media briefing at E3, Sony revealed the first footage I ever saw of Killzone: Shadow Fall . The brief interactive demo revealed an absolutely gorgeous scene. A futuristic aircraft of some sort--not quite a transport helicopter, but close--descended toward a magnificent city rising...
All graphics, no substance
Pros: Killer graphics Cons: As generic as every no frill shooters out there Fall asleep playing this game I preordered this the first day the PS4 and this game was announced. The game surely delivered the next gen graphics. Gameplay wise it was lacking.
Killzone: Shadow Fall PS4 Review
I have to admit that I haven't been all that excited for this new era in gaming. This is probably the first time where I have genuinely felt apathetic about what to play on launch day.
