Killzone: Shadow Fall Review (PS4)
Killzone: Shadow Fall takes place 30 years after the catastrophic events that took place at the end of Killzone 3 that nearly wiped out the Helghast race and left Planet Helghan in shambles.- I love the Helghast..
- ...and their weapons
- Great futuristic
- action movie-like music
- Absolutely stunning graphics
- Utilizes the DualShock 4 more than any other PS4 game
- Confusing
- unclear objectives
- Forgettable characters
- Platforming and anti-gravity gameplay are a chore
- Too many frustrating moments
Killzone: Shadow Fall Review: Ambitious steps in right and wrong directions
In its attempt to iterate on Killzone trademarks, Shadow Fall comes up short of greatness, but has enough tight action and expanded lore to please series enthusiasts.- Visceral
- polished shooting
- Breathtaking graphics and art direction
- Well-realized setting and universe
- Vague level design with poor signposting
- Lonely single-player missions
- Flight and freefall sections
Killzone: Shadow Fall review
Killzone: Shadow Fall uses the PS4's hardware to offer a very pretty game, but strip that away and it's just like many others before it: a serviceable shooter with an underdeveloped storyline and spotty AI. That doesn't make it bad, just a little boring.- Beautiful Worlds
- Intriguing setting
- Multiplayer customization
- Beyond the graphics
- nothing you haven't seen before
- The story is barebones
- Generally forgettable
While it may not be worth buying a whole new console for on its own, Killzone: Shadow Fall is a solid addition to the franchise. It doesn't move the series forward in any remarkable ways, but the foundation stands strong, and hopefully represents a positive glimpse at Killzone 's future.
Killzone: Shadow Fall Review
The future of first-person shooter looks an awful lot like the past. (7.5 out of 10) Pros Beautiful Worlds Intriguing setting Cons Beyond the graphics, nothing you haven't seen before The story is barebones One of the legitimate knocks against the PlayStation 4 is its underwhelming launch lineup.- Beautiful Worlds
- Intriguing setting
- Beyond the graphics
- nothing you haven't seen before
- The story is barebones
Killzone: Shadow Fall (PS4) Review – A Solid First Outing for the Successful Franchise on the PS4
Killzone has been a franchise thats had its ups and downs. While not every title in the series has been an outstanding critical success it's at least fair to say that over the years improvements have been made.
Killzone: Shadow Fall review
Killzone: Shadow Fall offers up incredible presentation and a better-than-average campaign narrative that's unfortunately more boring to play than it should be. The exciting multiplayer mode injects some greatness into an ultimately good game.
Killzone: Shadow Fall multiplayer review
Shadow Fall's multiplayer singlehandedly makes it a worthwhile purchase. A couple of things keep the mode from being truly great, but given the state of the competition this year, Killzone's multiplayer deserves to carve a wider niche.- Outstanding map design
- Warzone mode has been updated and is still glorious
- Visually impressive, despite motion blur effects
- No voice chat
- No clan support
- A very strange revive mechanic
- Hideous interface
- Too much anti-aliasing
Killzone: Shadow Fall
These days, it's kind of unreasonable to expect a killer app to release alongside next-generation hardware. It just doesn't happen anymore. What you usually end up with is a handful of quick and dirty ports of titles that have already been out for a while.
Killzone: Shadow Fall
Launch title for the PlayStation 4. Part of the long running and popular Killzone series Emphasis on more open world and stealth style gameplay. Amazing graphics that really show off what the latest generation has to offer. Use new weapons and your OWL tool to your advantage.- Shows off the PS4 potential – New stealth elements with more open worlds – Hard hitting story
- Campaign doesn't really offer much
