Beauty And The Beast
If the term ‘mixed-bag' hadn't been invented yet, it's precise meaning would have been defined forever more as ‘Killzone: Shadow Fall.' As in, ‘the film was pretty funny but my god were the action sequences awful, it was a bit of a Killzone: Shadow Fall.'- Awesome sound
- At times stunning to look at
- Satisfying combat
- Repetitive levels
- OWL not used enough
- Not enough original ideas
Killzone: Shadow Fall is a gorgeous, average soldier in the PS4′s launch unit (review)
Killzone: Shadow Fall is a pretty game, gorgeous even. But the demand for moments to punctuate trailers or demos forced a sacrifice of story that it never quite recovers from. The OWL will find its place in history as one of the few controller-based mechanics to actually entertain, while the time...- Like most set-piece-based shooters released over the past five years, Shadow Fall knows exactly how gorgeous it can be
- Guerrilla Games' in-house Umbra3 engine is put to some serious stress tests here, with a story packed with explosions and scenic vistas.
- Even with all of the god rays and water effects, Killzone: Shadow Fall is not a perfect visual package
- Dust particles flow charmingly through the air up close, but from a distance look like a hive of buzzing insects.
Killzone: Shadow Fall Review
Killzone has always had a message hidden in the battles and bloodshed on other worlds, shining a light on our own struggles and the futility of war. Killzone: Shadow Fall
Very few games have had a history as colorful as Killzone . Originally touted as a Halo killer for the PlayStation 2, the game had no chance to live up to the hefty standards given to it. It was an average shooter, though that's not what was expected of it, and was therefore considered a flop.
Killzone 4: Shadow Fall
Killzone: Shadow Fall is a beautiful-looking game and the perfect visual showcase for the PS4's hardware. The DualShock 4 controller support gives us a promising look at how other PS4 games can embrace the touchpad and speaker features as well. As shooters go, it's a solid effort.- Stunning in 1080p HD
- Great shooting mechanics
- Interesting DualShock 4 support
- Ambitious storyline not perfectly executed
- Easy to get lost in the more open levels
- Average voice dialogue
Killzone: Shadow Fall Review – PlayStation 4
Killzone: Shadow Fall has the luxury of being the only exclusive FPS launch title for either of the new consoles releasing this holiday season, but it is not without its competition.- Positives Amazing visuals and clever use of DualShock 4 features
- Negatives Ambiguous story
- unclear gameplay objectives
- and god-like enemy AI quickly sap the fun from this by-the-numbers FPS
Killzone: Shadow Fall Review
At times, the Killzone franchise has felt like a totally unnecessary set of games, purely created as an attempt to rival Halo, then continued more out of spite than success. Does " Killzone: Shadow Fall " fall into the same traps or revitalise a tired series?
Review: Killzone Shadow Fall
Set on the planet Vekta, some 30 years after the events of The Second Extrasolar War (Killzone 3). The conflicting factions of the Vektans and Helghast must co-exist in a somewhat cold war scenario.
Killzone: Shadow Fall review: through the eyes of a newcomer
Prior to the release of Killzone: Shadow Fall on PlayStation 4, Guerilla Games' Steven Ter Heide, game director, called it a great entry point to the franchise. For gamers new to PlayStation family, this game was supposed to present a "fresh start" for the franchise as most of the characters and...
Killzone: Shadowfall Review
If Guerrilla Games was tasked with the simple objective of creating a showpiece game for the PlayStation 4, they've done so. It offers a taste of what is possible on the new hardware from a graphical fidelity perspective.
