Killzone: Shadow Fall Review
Shadow Fall represents the Killzone series' coming-out party – out from being a plodding, gray war shooter through hours of bland, linear corridors. Now, it's something else entirely.
Pros:
- Stunning graphics
- Reworked gameplay
- Fun multiplayer
Cons:
- Occasionally poor enemy AI
- Questionable non-shooter sections

Killzone: Shadow Fall
It must have seemed impossible at the time when Sony contacted Guerrilla and asked them to work on a sequel to Killzone 3 on PlayStation 4. They were given two years and a fairly modest budget of just under £30 million (modest compared other massive projects that is).

Killzone: Shadow Fall review
Sure, Killzone: Shadow Fall has its lulls, but it's a mostly enjoyable experience from start to finish. This is no doubt the PlayStation 4's strongest exclusive launch title.
Pros:
- Excellent gunplay and ocassional open-ended mission structure
- Surprisingly powerful campaign moments
- Well-crafted multiplayer offering
Cons:
- Main characters are often unconvincing
- Some levels feel too constricting
- Actions of AI soldiers are sometimes questionable

Not for the average Killzone fan
I have gone back and played every game in the Killzone franchise while I have been waiting in anticipation for the PS4 to come out. Each game had its pros and cons but I found myself enjoying them and the story very much.

Killzone Shadow Fall Review
The first truly next generation shooter is here. Killzone Shadow Fall builds on its predecessors, advancing the same story after a time jump taking us decades later. The Vektan and Helghast now neighbour each other, living in a delicately-balanced harmony.
Pros:
- An engaging story
- with some incredible set-pieces
- Visuals are truly next-generation
- with some superb effects
- Evolves the Killzone formula with a fantastic new world
- Shooting mechanics remain weighty
- solid and fun
- A lot of customisation in the solid multiplayer component
Cons:
- Story doesn't explore issues which the setting demands
- Open area levels are poorly executed
- with tedious gameplay and archaic design
- HUD and lighting effect issues
- Multiplayer brings unwelcome changes to points and rank systems

Killzone: Shadow Fall review
The Killzone series has been important to Sony and its PlayStation line. The first arrived on PlayStation 2, almost as an answer to Microsoft and Bungie's Halo for the original Xbox, and there have been iterations for every subsequent console, including the PSP and PS Vita.
Pros:
- Absolutely gorgeous visuals - the best-looking game on the PS4 at launch by far
- multiplayer is great fun
- a good variety of gameplay styles
Cons:
- Pedestrian single-player campaign that is good but not spectacular
- over-use of lens flare effects to criminal levels

Killzone: Shadow Fall
PlayStation devotees know exactly what Killzone is – a solid if unspectacular first-person shooter franchise – right? Not any more. Shadow Fall ups the ante so effectively that, at last, a Killzone game can be described as spectacular, and it does so by ripping out everything from its previous...

Brilliantly presented and intuitive to play.
There are some great fire fights to be had in Killzone Shadow Fall, and the introduction of your OWL really helps mix things up a bit. Some of the levels are not very well explained or briefed and you really need to kind of suffer through trial and error a few times, but overall, its a great...

Killzone Shadow Fall review
Killzone Shadow Fall is a polished first-person shooter that delivers beautiful visuals, a killer multiplayer mode and some top-class moments in its campaign. But, possibly as a side effect of having to meet the PS4 launch deadline, the game falls short of true greatness.
Pros:
- Incredible next-gen visuals
- Open-ended campaign missons
- The Warzone multiplayer mode
Cons:
- The campaign's disappointing final third
- Few distinctive weapons
- Overly large multiplayer maps
