'Inversion' review (PS3)

. It wishes it had the same innovative cover-based action, sensational presentation and incredible atmosphere as Epic's shooter series.

Inversion

In summary, Inversion is a pretty good shooter that is worth being looked at by any fan of the genre. It is an enjoyable playthrough but not something that screams for a repeat performance.

Zero gravity segments are fun; Gravity manipulation is strong as a concept

Sporadic difficulty spikes; Poor multiplayer matchmaking; Awful AI in partner

Loving hanging out!

We use this every single day in the morning and at night. It is a saving grace for me with scoliosis and arthritis in my spine and shoulders. I could not do with out it now that I have it!

Attractive Design; Durable

Inversion

Inversion had a neat idea, but the execution is lackluster at best. For genre connoisseurs, it's worth a look, but most can safely pass this one up.

Inversion Review

Play Inversion for even two minutes and the parallels between it and big brother Gears of War become transparently obvious. It's not just that Inversion is a cover-based third-person shooter, it's that Inversion is a cover-based third-person shooter with a roadie run, guns that have giant knife...

Messing with gravity can be tons of fun; Great looking particle effects and lots of destructible environments; Solid control; even if it's not original

Not an original bone in its body; the game is equal parts Gears of War and Dead Space 2, Extreme difficulty spikes during boss encounters, Navigation system is never that great on telling you where to go

Inversion

Where some games pay homage by including Easter eggs or comical references, Inversion goes the less subtle route, brazenly copying the look and feel of Epic's Gears of War. Does its lone selling point--the ability to alter gravity--offer some redemption, or is it forgotten amidst the grit, grime,...

Inversion

Inversion is yet another derivative third-person shooter with a gimmick. This time around you control gravity in the most limited way possible. Although there are plenty of strong moments, the game is ultimately brought back down to earth with the never ending cinemas, repeating bosses, ugly...

Inversion

I have to give credit to Inversion for at least attempting something different. The game's gravity manipulation mechanic is incredibly interesting, especially when paired with shooter mechanics. The team up is reminiscent of Fracture ; the concept is familiar enough, but with a unique twist.

Inversion Review (PS3,XBOX360)

Another day, another third-person shooter. You should be excited, though, because you have dominion over the power of gravity... And stuff. I don't know. It's hard for me to get excited about yet another shooter that thinks it can get by on the strength of just one quirk.

If there's one thing you can say for this game, it's that it learned the good points of its predecessors well; The controls are slick and natural, probably because we've been gaming with roughly the same shooter control set since the release of the Xbox 360.

The story is just..; Oh man; The characters are so, so weak; You have the ultra-dramatic harried father figure as your protagonist, and a typical stalwart companion who follows you around and generally sucks in battle.
