Inversion

Every game (especially third person shooters) claims to have the "X" factor that distinguishes them from the run of the mill running and gunning games. There are however games that have defined this genre. Gears of War is looked up to as a cover based shooter genre-defining game.

Gravity mechanics in gameplay are interesting; Copy of Gears of War; Familiar territory for action game lovers

Game lacks overall polish; Uninteresting multiplayer; Enemies are too repetitive

Inversion Review (PS3,XBOX360)

Another day, another third-person shooter. You should be excited, though, because you have dominion over the power of gravity... And stuff. I don't know. It's hard for me to get excited about yet another shooter that thinks it can get by on the strength of just one quirk.

If there's one thing you can say for this game, it's that it learned the good points of its predecessors well; The controls are slick and natural, probably because we've been gaming with roughly the same shooter control set since the release of the Xbox 360.

The story is just..; Oh man; The characters are so, so weak; You have the ultra-dramatic harried father figure as your protagonist, and a typical stalwart companion who follows you around and generally sucks in battle.

Inversion Review

Play Inversion for even two minutes and the parallels between it and big brother Gears of War become transparently obvious. It's not just that Inversion is a cover-based third-person shooter, it's that Inversion is a cover-based third-person shooter with a roadie run, guns that have giant knife...

Messing with gravity can be tons of fun; Great looking particle effects and lots of destructible environments; Solid control; even if it's not original

Not an original bone in its body; the game is equal parts Gears of War and Dead Space 2, Extreme difficulty spikes during boss encounters, Navigation system is never that great on telling you where to go

Inversion Review

In the end, you will likely finish the game in about seven to nine hours, but you'll still feel like you didn't play it. It is that forgettable.

The graphics and destructible environments are above normal for most games; Gun sounds and impacts are convincing; The game was short

Enemy AI is practically non-existent; Sounds are terrible; Multiplayer; including co-op just feel tacked on as a selling point

Inversion Review

Numerous moments engage players dramatically, but illuminate the game Inversion never fully becomes.

Interesting gameplay concept; Gleaming; fun moments

No original tonal changes; Unrefined mechanics

Inversion

Mediocre: An exercise in apathy, neither Solid nor Liquid. Not exactly bad, but not very good either. Just a bit 'meh,' really.

Inversion

Without a doubt, the absolute 'inversion' of everything good and holy about video games.

The controls work; The guns shoot; You can always shut it off

You turned it on in the first place; I'm so sorry that you were suckered in

Inversion

One of the first things your Action-Man-look-alike protagonist in Inversion says is "It will all be over soon. Soon enough." Unfortunately, he's dead wrong. Even though this run-of-the-mill third person cover shooter isn't particularly long, it becomes an exercise in tedium long before the credits...

Inversion

With a name like Inversion, you just know that not long after booting up the game some crazy, gravity-defying shenanigans are going to ensue. This is actually the game's selling point.

Inversion

I have to give credit to Inversion for at least attempting something different. The game's gravity manipulation mechanic is incredibly interesting, especially when paired with shooter mechanics. The team up is reminiscent of Fracture ; the concept is familiar enough, but with a unique twist.
