Hitman 2: "Feels like an expansion pack, rather than a real sequel"

There aren't many games that let you recall the time you knocked an old woman unconscious with a freshly baked blueberry muffin while s...

Beautifully crafted sandbox levels; Costumes and stories can still be hilarious; Lovely nods to Hitman history

Still very much Hitman; Feels like an expansion; rather than a full release; Story feels lacklustre

Hitman 2 Review

doesn't add much of note to the structure of its predecessor and thus feels more like Hitman 1.5 than a full-blown sequel. But that's not a bad thing. By offering more of the deepest, fullest stealth sandboxes in gaming in one single package rather than six episodic ones, it earns its keep.

A Worthy Investment For Expert Executioners

With 2016's episodic experiment firmly in the rearview mirror, Agent 47 is back with another full itinerary of places to go and people to execute. While Hitman 2's globetrotting adventure suffers from the same shortcomings as its predecessor, the new locations and clever assassination opportunities...

Hitman 2 review – same agent, new targets

Agent 47 continues the 2016 reboot's good work, but by bringing judicious tweaks rather than any radical reinvention.

Gloriously intricate new levels and picture-in-picture is a neat addition; Surprisingly humorous and lots of replayability; Ability to import Hitman 1 levels is great

No major new ideas; Still too rigorous for those who aren't dedicated stealth-lovers; Reused tutorial feels a bit shoddy

Hitman 2

47 is back, although this time around it's almost as if he never even left. Hitman 2 is a direct sequel to the episodic Hitman , but it's also very much a second chapter, a continuation of the adventure that started back in 2016.

A Fantastic game

This game is as great if not better than the first, the graphics look amazing especially on PS4 Pro. I've only played the first 2 levels but have thoroughly enjoyed the game so far. I've always loved stealth games but also have fun going in loud as possible and causing chaos.

Hitman 2 Review – Clean Hit

Over the years, stealth games have steadily inched away from stingy trial-and-error gameplay and embraced a more freeform approach that allowed for messy recoveries. Hitman has also given players that ability but not without sacrificing that elusive, perfect hit that takes planning, grit, and a...

Intricate assassinations that encourage replayability and reward strategic thinking; Dense but open environments with many different routes; The wealth of modes exercise the game's stunning freedom; Tongue-in-cheek humor and silly; self-aware dialogue

Static cutscenes with flat storytelling; Multiplayer; although still in beta; is a bit undercooked; Tags

Hitman 2 Review

Considering the trials and tribulations that IO Interactive have endured over the last few years, the fact that Hitman 2 was even released is a marvel. That it also manages to be the best Hitman game so far is a testament to how good the 2016 series reboot was and how IO have managed to evolve their...

The best Hitman action yet; Hiding in crowds; smuggling with briefcases; The tension of Elusive Contracts; Ghost Mode is surprisingly fast paced fun

Lacking Escalation missions at launch; Sometimes overly rigid AI and stealth; Weak; meandering story and cutscenes; Ghost Mode is still in beta; Long load and save times

The story continues where the 2016 title left off, and we continue to get glimpses and find out more details about agent 47's mysterious background, and even get the juicy details about the true relationship between him and some other crucial characters.

The story; The replayability; The challenging missions; The new multiplayer game modes; A few hilarious moments

Dumb AI; Graphical glitches; Graphics seem cheap in some instances

PS4 Review - 'Hitman 2'

Buy Hitman 2 There are few franchises still in existence that tickle my nostalgia itch quite like the Hitman games. The series is so firmly rooted in exploring, exploiting and experimenting with its gameplay mechanics that even its shortcomings were an integral part of the experience.
