Hitman 2 is an utterly sublime improvement over the previous outing. It's everything we know and love about Hitman, but with less episodic misery. The time it takes to complete is entirely up to you, based on the way you play and how much time you spend on all the challenges and story missions.
A more complete release than the previous games; Hours of replayability; Polished design; Beautiful maps to explore; Plenty of humour to mask the murderous undertones
Lacks some of the flexibility of previous games on first play through; Storyline feels a bit contrived at times
The 2016 soft reboot of Hitman adopted an outsized back-to-basics approach, returning the series to open-ended stealth missions, and across bigger levels than ever before. It fine-tuned familiar systems to create the most playable, accessible incarnation of the series yet.
In the quiet of a Vermont suburb, the crowded slums of Mumbai, an Eyes Wide Shut -esque party for rich people (minus the sex), a race track in Miami, or a working class town in Colombia, you might see bald-headed Agent 47, with his signature barcode on the back of his head, skulking about.
Agent 47 is ready to kill again. Are you
Although a lot of people were sceptical about how the first season of Hitman was presented, it did work out quite well in the end, allowing you dispatch targets in multitudes of ways, with different challenges that were quite well setup and at times, elaborate to achieve.
Dan suits up for another round of creative killing with everyone's favourite assassin, Agent 47.
Huge amount of options for dispatching targets; Massive stunning levels; High replayability; So many ways to tackle any situation
Story is short if you just run through it once; Trial and error may turn off some players; Enemy AI can be easy to exploit; NZ level could be anywhere in the world
Death has come in many forms: the barrel of a rifle, a barber's razor, a tattoo gun, a faulty gas valve. Death has come for every one of 47's targets, several of their guards, a few police officers and, ok, a couple of innocent bystanders too.
Tightly designed levels; Fun stealth gameplay; Not as punishing as before
Not as punishing as before; Lots of gadget repetition
A few months after the release of Hitman ‘s final episode in 2016, publisher Square Enix unexpectedly dropped the IP , putting IO Interactive's plans for a sequel in serious doubt.
The story continues where the 2016 title left off, and we continue to get glimpses and find out more details about agent 47's mysterious background, and even get the juicy details about the true relationship between him and some other crucial characters.
The story; The replayability; The challenging missions; The new multiplayer game modes; A few hilarious moments
Dumb AI; Graphical glitches; Graphics seem cheap in some instances
