The HTC One M8 is HTC's top smartphone for 2014. Our colleagues over at PC Advisor are convinced that the HTC One M8 beats the iPhone 5s hands down .  But here at Macworld UK we are fans of the iPhone .

iPhone 5s offers more internal storage and is more portable; iOS is intuitive and user-friendly; HTC One M8 has expandable storage; M8 offers larger and sharper screen; Both phones offer excellent speed and cameras

16GB M8 offers just over 10GB in real terms compared to 12.5GB in 16GB iPhone; If you are an iOS user you won't want to switch

Summary: The HTC One (M8) ticks most of our boxes: design, build and performance are all excellent, there's no app overload, and HTC Sense is improving with every iteration. Battery life could be better and some of the camera tools may seem unnecessary, but overall it's a winner.

Best phone I've had. I haven't had it that long yet so can't give a review on it's longevity, but so far I'm impressed. It's very fast, easy to use, lots of good apps already installed, great interface. Camera is brilliant and so is the sound quality!

Going from iPhone to android was a big step for me so I'm totally delighted with this handset! The features rival,if not better my old phone and I don't have a negative thing to say.

This product was out of stock for quite a while but was swiftly processed by my local Argos store in North Bridge, Edinburgh. So far it has exceeded my expectations. I ordered the DOT Case separately and it was easy to set up and use. There is a case in the box but it does not protect the screen.

The performance of this phone is outstanding, practically perfect in every way. It didn't meet my standards, it exceeded them with full acceletation. I don't know why anyone would opt for anything else.

A month in to my first HTC phone, and I'm impressed. The ui is buttery smooth and so far I've had no crashes. The whole experience feels very high class compared to my G2 and Samsung which used to suffer from crashes etc
