HTC One M9 review - is this really the One for you

The HTC One M9 is a curious smartphone; on the one hand, HTC have stuck to the design they know that's been very well received and updated it with the latest specs but on the other hand, HTC have kept to the same design without really innovating further.

The HTC One M9 is a true flagship smartphone and the one-piece dual-tone metallic body is testament to that. The design includes tapered edges and the One M9 will be available in Gold on Gold, Gunmetal Grey or Gold on Silver colour schemes.

HTC One M9 Review: The Phone Only HTC Could Build... For The Third Time

The HTC One M9 is problematic. It's not a bad phone, but it's also not a great one, and it doesn't feel so much better than last year's device that an upgrade would be even remotely necessary for current One M8 owners.
Pros:
  • Still metal The One M9 still feels like a premium phone with premium materials
  • even if some of the small design changes are
  • to my eyes
  • less than great
  • A respectable 1080p LCD While the M9's screen isn't going to win any awards for best-in-a-smartphone
  • it's not bad by any means
  • and still seems...
Cons:
  • Not any faster The M9 doesn't feel appreciably quicker than the phone it replaces, and sometimes can be slower (such as when multitasking)
  • This doesn't speak well of the Snapdragon 810, which is already under fire for issues, A mediocre 20 megapixels HTC finally ditched the 4MP Ultrapixel rear...

Great Deal, Great Price

This was a top-of-the-line phone just a couple of years ago. Getting it now for such a low price makes a lot of sense, especially for anyone who is rough on cell phones. My rock-climbing son got only 11 months out of his last phone before it had a smashed screen and started acting flaky.

HTC One M9 Review: First Look Hands-On

HTC has finally announced the One M9 flagship successor. We managed to grab the device at a preview event: here's what it's like!
Pros:
  • Great build quality
  • Sense 7 is perhaps the best Android overlay of them all
  • Powerful performance
  • Decent size and weight
  • SD-support
Cons:
  • As nice as the design is, we'd like to have seen more –– it feels very 2014 after seeing the Galaxy S6 EDGE
  • Display lags behind the competition
  • Camera needs work
  • Very high price point for what's on offer compared to Galaxy Note 4 and Google Nexus 6
