If you like apps? No. Then again, if you do like apps I'm not sure why you're reading a Windows Phone review in the first place. But if you want eye-candy hardware, wrapped in a well-designed OS, then this phone could be a great pocket companion.

Ultimately, I will leave the M8 for Windows behind; For all the great additions HTC brought over to Windows Phone, the camera is just mediocre-much like it was for Android-and the camera app has even less functionality here.

HTC One (M8) Review: Beauty With Brains

When HTC announced the One (M8), I was happy not because of its specs, but the fact that the Taiwanese company didn't call it the HTC One Two. Sad joke aside, this is probably the only Android phone that iPhone and Windows Phone users wouldn't mind picking-up.

Stylish unibody design; Crisp display; Excellent multimedia perofrmance; Interesting camera features; Can work as a TV remote; Excellent speaker setup; Good battery life

4 "ultrapixel" camera loses out on details; Not ideal for single-handed usage; Colours (on screen) look dull

HTC One M8 review: HTC's stunning sequel steals the show

Think of the HTC One M8 as the big-budget sequel to an Oscar-winning indie film. Last year's HTC One won rave reviews and obsessed fans, but not enough customers to keep HTC growing. This year, HTC needs a rip-roaring box-office hit with its flagship phone.

Elegant style, raw power, and sophisticated features make the HTC One M8 an excellent smartphone choice for anyone but the most exacting photographer.

The HTC One M8's sumptuous aluminum body makes a beautiful background for this top-flight smartphone's brilliant 5-inch display; It runs on a powerful quad-core processor and Android KitKat, the stereo speakers deliver excellent sound, and the depth-sensing camera brings a ton of useful features.

The One M8’s battery is not user-removable, making it harder to replace once the battery inevitably wears out; The phone's sealed chassis is not water-resistant, and the One M8's photos look less sharp than competitors'.

After using iphone 5 for more than I year, I'm so happy to switch to HTC. I love everything, the big screen, the camera, the sound. Battery lasts so much longer than iphone's, and it's so much user friendlier.
