HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Desktop Mini Business PC Review #HPDiscover #HPElite
Do you remember when desktop computers were so large that they had to go under (or to the side of) the desk? Oh wait; most of them still are still that large. The HP EliteDesk 800 G1 , however, is an exception.
Pros:
- : Extremely small CPU that can be mounted or placed almost anywhere
- powerful and upgradeable
- a total of six USB 3.0 ports
- can handle up to three external displays
Cons:
- : You have to provide your own monitor, keyboard, and mouse
- no digital drive (for those who haven't weaned themselves off of them yet

HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Desktop Mini Review
As long as you're clear on what the HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Desktop Mini is trying to be, it's an excellent machine. It's not meant for entertainment, and it's not meant for graphics-intensive work that demands a lot of processing power.
Pros:
- Easily customizable with toolless entry
- very small
- wide variety of mounting options
- very energy efficient
- can handle basic office tasks with no noticeable slowdown
- dual-monitor support thanks to two DisplayPorts
Cons:
- No HDMI port
- no 802.11ac Wi-Fi
- no Bluetooth
- noisy fan
- a bit expensive
- lack of optical drive could still be problematic for some

Does not have a solid state drive
Have to send this back after finding out it does not have a solid state drive as is in the list of features. It has a regular hard drive which is not what I wanted. Especially not at the listed price.

Downsizing to this tiny desktop will save you plenty of space

Cons:
- Has only 100Mbps Ethernet
- DisplayPort the only option for digital video out

The EliteDesk 800 G1 from HP is a desktop PC with a very compact form factor, which can be mounted behind a LCD monitor or tucked against it in an upright position. In other words, it's a great choice for offices where space is at a premium.

Powerful Machine, So Far So Good
It looks pretty sleek.
Pros:
- Powerful Processor
- Expandability
- Easy to Work On
- DVD Optical Drive
- 3.5" Knockout for card reader
- Fast
- 3 year warranty
- It's an HP
- SuperSpeed USB
Cons:
- Only 4GB RAM, 6-8 would be nice, The product image shows no optical drive, however there IS in fact an optical drive on this machine located to the right of the power button
- If I have any trouble, I will submit another review or revise this one

If you're looking for the latter, HP has a machine for you. Dubbed the HP EliteDesk 800 Desktop Mini (just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?), the computer is in a tiny form factor, not much larger than a standard cable modem or home network switch.
