Google Pixel 4 review: A great camera isn’t enough to justify the high price

The Pixel 4 has one of the best cameras around, but it's expensive given its limited amount of storage. If you want more storage and a comparable camera, consider the OnePlus 7T or Galaxy S10, or the Pixel 3, which is only $500 right now. Update, Aug. 7, 2020: Google has discontinued the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL phones. This follows the launch of the Pixel 4A, which we have reviewed. Original story follows.
Pros:
  • The Pixel 4's dual rear cameras take brilliant photos and its display's high refresh rate makes navigating silky smooth
  • The phone will get prompt software updates and its face unlock works really fast.
Cons:
  • The phone doesn't come with earbuds
  • it has no expandable storage option and its battery life is mediocre.

Google Pixel 4 Review: no longer at the smartphone forefront

We find it hard to include the Google Pixel 4 among the ranks of other high-end smartphones. It is m... Short-winded. The Pixel 4 features almost no real updates save for a touchless gesture control feature and a 90 Hz panel. Otherwise, the device can be considered mostly a facelift. Unfortunately, it no longer features a fingerprint reader and the battery has decreased in capacity. Let's find out whether this new recipe actually works.
Pros:
  • well built
  • balanced speakers
  • updates available for a long time
  • great dual camera setup
  • color-accurate 90 Hz display...
Cons:
  • ...lacking display brightness boost
  • no Wi-Fi 6
  • meager storage capacity without expandability options
  • poor battery life
  • poor screen-to-body ratio

Google Pixel 4 Review

Featuring an excellent camera and a completely clean Android 10 install, Google's Pixel 4 is an excellent phone that matches – if not beats – key competitors in a number of areas. It’s not the prettiest phone around, and for the money you can get phones with better hardware, like the OnePlus 7T. But Google’s imaging wizardry and clean software more than make up for this. However, its battery life is way shorter than most competing handsets.
Pros:
  • Compact design
  • Excellent camera
  • Clean Android 10 install
Cons:
  • Below average battery life

Awesome phone - fast, slick interface, amazing camera and stable

I am a Android long timer and have used a number of previous Google phones from the G1 to the P3. I upgraded to the P4 right at launch and have been delighted with the new phone. It is a great looking phone with a very user friendly interface (even attested to by my wife who has been on iOS) and I...
