Google Pixel 4 (64GB, Orange) AU - Pristine review

I usually spend my fall phone money on the newest Galaxy Note, but this year I went all in on the Samsung Galaxy Fold and think it's the most innovative and exciting phone I've tried in years.
Pros:
  • Latest Android software, Excellent camera software, High quality design, fit, and finish
Cons:
  • Limited storage options, High price for specs, Limited MotionSense gestures, Lacks ultra wide-angle camera, Poor cellular reception, Poor battery life

Google Pixel 4 (and XL) review

Google has taken aim at a couple of areas with the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, and hammered them like a Japanese swordsmith. The camera is the main one. These cameras are a delight to use, and all the progress is entirely in line with the brilliant work put into the Pixel 3 series. You also get to experience Android’s latest developments with a Pixel phone. But the rest? The Pixel 4 design takes the iconic simplicity of the older Pixels, and simplifies it until it seems generic. And it’s hard to ignore that other phones offer more for less, or at least for the same money. More storage. More screen per square inch. More battery per gram. These phones are great, but they prove once again Google is more of a software company than a hardware one.
Pros:
  • Cracking camera
  • It’s the vessel for all Android’s new bits
  • Good speakers
Cons:
  • Battery life is only OK
  • No fingerprint scanner
  • Bland design
  • Stingy on storage

Google Pixel 4 Review: Self-Sabotage

I wanted to love the Pixel 4, but instead I can only bring myself to like it, and if it sounds like I'm being demanding then you may not have been keeping up with smartphones in 2019.
Pros:
  • Camera technology is capable of incredible results
  • 90Hz OLED screens are smooth and beautiful
  • Android 10 runs fast
  • Face Unlock is incredibly quick
  • Recorder app is offline dictation witchcraft
Cons:
  • Battery life ranges from underwhelming to just plain bad
  • No ultra wide camera
  • Motion Sense feels gimmicky for now
  • G Suite users miss out on key features
  • 64GB of storage is miserly

Google Pixel 4 review: Delight and frustration

The Pixel 4 is a more or less equal mixture of delight and frustration. It's impressive in all the ways we've come to expect from Google's devices; the aforementioned camera is the unquestionable highlight, and some of the software features are incredibly clever.
Pros:
  • Fantastic camera
  • Smart software features
Cons:
  • No fingerprint sensor
  • Terrible battery life
  • Low starting storage allocation

Google Pixel 4 review: A pixel-perfect encore

Phew. I certainly wasn't expecting to write this much about the Pixel 4 when I first powered up my laptop this morning. Looking back, my previous pessimistic statements about the Pixel 4 were perhaps a tad exaggerated, and it seems there is indeed plenty to talk about when it comes to Google's...
Pros:
  • Best Android software to date
  • Pixel camera continues to impress
  • Comprehensive range of new features
Cons:
  • Battery life still not improved
  • No fingerprint sensor or microSD expansion
  • Potential face unlock vulnerabilities

Google Pixel 4 review: Shooting for the stars

The Google Pixel 4 not only looks and feels great, it has a brilliant camera for taking great photos. This, as with its predecessor, is what really sells the home-grown Google experience.
Pros:
  • Great camera performance
  • Pure Android software
  • Exclusive smart features
  • We love the tactile design - especially in Just White and Oh So Orange
  • Great (albeit small) display
Cons:
  • Battery life really isn't its strong suit
  • Motion Sense gestures add little to nothing
  • No wide-angle camera
  • No third-party face unlock support - and no fingerprint scanner as backup

Google Pixel 4 Review

Featuring an excellent camera and a completely clean Android 10 install, Google's Pixel 4 is an excellent phone that matches – if not beats – key competitors in a number of areas. It’s not the prettiest phone around, and for the money you can get phones with better hardware, like the OnePlus 7T. But Google’s imaging wizardry and clean software more than make up for this. However, its battery life is way shorter than most competing handsets.
Pros:
  • Compact design
  • Excellent camera
  • Clean Android 10 install
Cons:
  • Below average battery life
