Google Pixel 4 Review

The Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL offer powerful hardware, innovative software that actually makes your life easier, and the best cameras you'll find on a flagship phone line. Since Google released its first Pixel handset in 2016, the line has quickly become the darling of serious smartphone shutterbugs. And while the Google Pixel 4 ($799) and Pixel 4 XL ($899) maintain this tradition, it is reductive to think of them as just smartphones with excellent cameras. In fact, the Pixel 4 is the most innovative smartphone line we've seen in some time. In addition to an attractive design overhaul, the phones have many thoughtful new features like Face Unlock, Live Caption, and Motion Sense that genuinely make your life easier, and earn our Editors' Choice. Design, Display, and Durability Sleek has never been a word you would use to describe Google's Pixel lineup; utilitarian or whimsical, maybe, but certainly not sleek. But that changes with the Pixel 4 line, which definitely looks sharp enough to turn heads. From the front, the phone look nearly identical to its predecessors, but that is where the similarities end. Flip it over and you'll find a glossy pane ...
Pros:
  • Attractive design
  • 90Hz display
  • Class-leading cameras
  • Live Caption and Recorder are excellent accessibility additions
Cons:
  • Not enough storage options
  • Battery life could be better

Google Pixel 4 review

The Pixel 4 packs in a number of major hardware changes - the second lens, 90Hz display, new face unlock, radar sensor, and Neural Core chip - and still has the best camera around for stills, even if it's badly behind on video.

Google Pixel 4 (64GB, Orange) AU - Pristine review

I usually spend my fall phone money on the newest Galaxy Note, but this year I went all in on the Samsung Galaxy Fold and think it's the most innovative and exciting phone I've tried in years.
Pros:
  • Latest Android software, Excellent camera software, High quality design, fit, and finish
Cons:
  • Limited storage options, High price for specs, Limited MotionSense gestures, Lacks ultra wide-angle camera, Poor cellular reception, Poor battery life

Google Pixel 4 review: Delight and frustration

The Pixel 4 is a more or less equal mixture of delight and frustration. It's impressive in all the ways we've come to expect from Google's devices; the aforementioned camera is the unquestionable highlight, and some of the software features are incredibly clever.
Pros:
  • Fantastic camera
  • Smart software features
Cons:
  • No fingerprint sensor
  • Terrible battery life
  • Low starting storage allocation

Google Pixel 4 review: A pixel-perfect encore

Phew. I certainly wasn't expecting to write this much about the Pixel 4 when I first powered up my laptop this morning. Looking back, my previous pessimistic statements about the Pixel 4 were perhaps a tad exaggerated, and it seems there is indeed plenty to talk about when it comes to Google's...
Pros:
  • Best Android software to date
  • Pixel camera continues to impress
  • Comprehensive range of new features
Cons:
  • Battery life still not improved
  • No fingerprint sensor or microSD expansion
  • Potential face unlock vulnerabilities

Why did I even buy this phone

Just picked up from Best Buy and will be returning within my 14 day window. I loved the in hand feel of the Pixel 3 since it was the smallest flaghips out(sadly) and gave the pixel 4 a go as well. The matte glass is a bummer but the matte sides do give great grip and feel awesome in hand.
Pros:
  • Night mode stills
Cons:
  • everything else

AMAZING phone, HORRIBLE battery life.

This phone is great in terms of speed, size, look, function, camera, almost everything... But the battery is something else. Absolutely horrible. It reminds me of my old S6. Good luck getting more than 3 hours screen on time.

Google Pixel 4 review

If you're in the market for one of the very best camera phones out there, the Pixel 4 should be at or close to the top of your list. If you're looking for an all-round feature-packed phone, you may be a bit disappointed, and the battery life is mediocre at best, but it's a solidly built device with...
Pros:
  • Great camera is now even better
  • Solid easy-to-grip design
  • Beautiful 90Hz display
Cons:
  • No fingerprint scanner
  • Battery life is poor
  • Motion Sense is very basic

Google Pixel 4 review: Shooting for the stars

The Google Pixel 4 not only looks and feels great, it has a brilliant camera for taking great photos. This, as with its predecessor, is what really sells the home-grown Google experience.
Pros:
  • Great camera performance
  • Pure Android software
  • Exclusive smart features
  • We love the tactile design - especially in Just White and Oh So Orange
  • Great (albeit small) display
Cons:
  • Battery life really isn't its strong suit
  • Motion Sense gestures add little to nothing
  • No wide-angle camera
  • No third-party face unlock support - and no fingerprint scanner as backup
