Reviews for the Google Pixel 3 have been overwhelmingly positive, with one expert saying "it's the best Android smartphone you can buy". Let's find out why!

Cool and compact

The Pixel 3 is smaller, lighter and more compact than most smartphones, with many tech experts pointing out how comfortable it is to handle, how easy it is to hold one-handed, and how nicely it fits into your pocket.

Glass adds class

The Pixel 3 says goodbye to Google's usual aluminium and glass construction, and adopts a classy all-glass design. If first impressions count, this is the phone for you!

An enhanced display

The OLED screen delivers a higher contrast ratio, most evident in low light and dark conditions, while the 2,260 x 1,080-pixel resolution is super-sharp, with excellent colour saturation, and the option to revert to a more "natural" display if preferred.

Amazing cameras

The cameras on Google smartphones are some of the best you can get. The Pixel 3 is no exception! New features include Top Shot, which takes frames before and after your picture and suggests an alternative shot to what you actually captured: Super Res Zoom gives you better detail while zooming: and Night Sight greatly enhances the quality of low light shots.

A focus on yourself

The Pixel 3 features regular and wide-angle lens for all selfies and portrait mode shots. An integrated algorithm will remove any distortion caused by the wider lens.

Call screening

A great example of the wonderful AI tasks in this smartphone! When you receive a call, on-device speech recognition will transcribe the conversation from the caller (who is calling? why they are calling?) so you can decide whether to pick up, hang up, or mark as spam and block.

A newer model Google Pixel 4 64GB was released in November 2019.

Best camera just got even better

Let's get the elephant out of the room, I am no fan of a notch, that's why I got the smaller pixel. Also because I have used a series of big phones, from Note 5 to Note 8, I miss the compactness of smaller phones.
