Verdict: Scott and I have already written up our preliminary thoughts on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL , but now it's time to go a bit deeper into the phones that are front and centre of Google's idea of what Android on a phone should be.

Google Pixel 3 XL review: Android's new hotshot phone

4.5
Verdict: The Google Pixel is the panacea of Android phones, designed to show what you can do with pure Android software, tuned to the Google-designed hardware. Its pièce de résistance is the camera, where Google's aim is to showcase what artificial intelligence (AI) can really do.
Pros: Outstanding camera performance, Android Pie is clean and fast, High quality design and build, No screen issues this time around
Cons: Battery life isn't class leading, Some software foibles

Pros: Top-quality camera, Lots of power, Pure Android with speedy updates

Google Pixel 3

4.5
Verdict: The Google Pixel 3 has fast performance, excellent camera capabilities, and useful AI functionality that goes beyond what we're seeing in other Android flagships. It's $100 less than the larger Pixel 3 XL, doesn't have the distracting screen notch, and shares nearly all the same hardware and...
Pros: Compact. Fast performance. Beautiful OLED screen. Sharp front and rear camera with impressive low-light, zoom, and bokeh capabilities. Useful Google Assistant functionality. Highly optimized software with guaranteed updates
Cons: No headphone jack or memory card slot

Google Pixel 3 64GB

Verdict: A device is more than the sum of its parts. In the three years since Google first introduced the Pixel series of smartphones, it has consistently proved that plain and simple hardware specs do not matter as much as Google's OEM partners would have you believe.

Google Pixel 3 XL review

4.5
Verdict: The Google Pixel 3 XL is the big-screen, best-camera phone combination of 2018, a one-two punch when it comes to offering an expansive, color-rich display and photos your friends won't believe came from a smartphone.
Pros: Best camera phone we've tested, Problem-free 6.3-inch OLED display, Solid battery life vs smaller Pixel 3
Cons: The notch cut out is hard to ignore, Not one-hand friendly as Pixel 3, More expensive, like all 2018 phones

Google Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL Review - Style Over Substance

No reviews
Verdict: If you want a no-nonsense phone that just works, this is what you buy. It truly has become the iPhone of Android, and will likely appeal most to users who aren't interested in lots of options, tweaking the interface, or making the phone feel like a one-of-a-kind device that no-one else has.

Google Pixel 3 Review: The Best Android Meets the Best Camera

4.4
Verdict: The Pixel 3 is the ultimate expression of Android and proof that AI done right can make your life easier.
Pros: Excellent performance, Quality OLED display, Top-tier cameras, Charming design, Call Screen is a godsend
Cons: A bit expensive, Bezels could be slimmer

Google Pixel 3 XL

4.4
Verdict: It's one of our favorite phones of the year, but the Pixel 3 XL isn't what we usually see from big-screen phones. For instance, it costs less than $1,000 (more specifically, $899, £869 and AU$1,349), and it has only one rear camera lens.
Pros: The Pixel 3 XL has a top-of-the-line camera that includes an enhanced low-light feature and it can now take wider selfie shots. It's water resistant, has wireless charging and its Google Assistant has convenient new skills such as call screening
Cons: The phone's onscreen notch is taller than other phones'. It doesn't have expandable memory or a headphone jack

Google Pixel 3 Review

Pros: Great haptics, Google's Android is the best Android, Much-improved design, Breathtaking camera both on the front and back, Fast wireless charging and clever Pixel Stand (even if it's not included
Cons: No form of facial unlocking, Can scratch easily

Google Pixel 3 XL: Brilliant but Google is treading water

4.0
Verdict: If there's one thing I wanted from the Google Pixel 3 XL, it's that it didn't make a repeat of last year. The Pixel 2 XL was an otherwise cracking phone but its flawed display held it back from greatness.
Pros: Fabulous camera, Superb performance, Android Pie goodness
Cons: Mediocre battery life, No secondary rear camera

Google Pixel 3 Review: Picture greatness

4.5
Verdict: It's a testament to just how high expectations are for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL that, even after months of the Google phones leaking, interest in them remains high. Verdict: The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL were unveiled a week ago in Google's third attempt at establishing itself as a serious player in the premium smartphone segment. Google Pixel 3 64GB

Verdict: And, well, it has and hasn't. The Pixel 3 is but an incremental upgrade compared to the Pixel 2, a rather well-received handset, albeit one with a rather dated design. Google Pixel 3 review: The best camera smartphone of 2018

Google Pixel 3 XL

3.7
Verdict: Google is back with its third-generation smartphone and the larger of the two siblings packs a modest specification set, but what it lacks in hardware, it makes up for in software
Pros: Superior camera performance, Impressive battery life, Premium design and finish
Cons: Single rear camera can be limiting, No HDR10 or Dolby Vision, Notch is big and ugly

Google Pixel 3 XL Review: Excelling in Every Sense

4.5
Verdict: The hounding influx of new smartphones, slipping into the market every other day, can be tiring but there are select smartphones that cut through this noise and still manage to keep you raring and interested.
Pros: Scratch-resistant glass design, IP68 rating, Striking display rated among best by DisplayMate, Mind-blowing and unbeatable camera, Wide-angle selfies, AR characters and Google Lens built into the camera app, Front-facing stereo speakers, Wireless charging and Pixel Stand support, MIMO Wi-Fi

Google Pixel 3 64GB

4.0
Verdict: The Google and Pixel 3 XL are strong follow-ups to last year's . Upon Google's initial announcement, the specifications and features of these phones didn't seem terribly impressive, in light of competing flagships based on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.
Pros: Great Design, Awesome Camera, Strong Performance, Clean, Android Pie
Cons: No Expandable Storage, Big Notch On The XL, New Navigation Elements May Take Getting Used To

Google Pixel 3 64GB

4.5
Verdict: Google Pixel 3 stands out of the crowd with its stunning design and camera performance. But its not only about camera, despite having 4 GB of RAM it is capable of handling high-graphics intensive games smoothly. With smooth and clean UI, it is the perfect Android phone out in the market.

Google Pixel 3 review: Great things come in small(er) packages

4.7
Verdict: We've definitely taken a look at our fair share of smartphones over the past few years and have definitely noticed, along with everyone else, the trend towards bigger phones. While smartphones, in general, are slowly getting bigger, bigger isn't always better.

Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL review: the best camera gets a better phone

4.2
Verdict: When Google hardware chief Rick Osterloh introduced the Pixel 3 last week, he didn't utter the word "Android" a single time. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are Google phones. Google Pixel 3 review: Brains over brawn

4.0
Verdict: The Pixel 3 doesn't stand out in any specific areas - and lags behind in one or two - but what it does do is bring together all of its functions to form a whole that feels genuinely smart, deploying clever AI and software tweaks to create something that's genuinely useful.
Pros: Outstanding camera, Incredibly smart AI features, Gorgeous design
Cons: Disappointing battery life, Not the fastest

Google Pixel 3 64GB

4.0
Verdict: Perhaps ironically, software has always been the central conceit to what Google has offered with the first two generations of Pixel hardware. Try as you might, there's no shying away from this fact. Sure, the hardware is solid and delightfully minimalist but it's nothing unique.
Pros: Incredible photography, Slick software
Cons: Kinda boring hardware, Less battery life than the competition

Google Pixel 3 Review

Verdict: The Pixel 3 is the latest smartphone from Google, following on from the success of last year's Pixel 2. There are a number of new features, many of which are of particular interest to photographers. Like the previous versions of the phone, the camera is at the heart of much of Google's marketing.

Great a everything BUT being a phone!

2.5
Verdict: While it's camera is great, looks amazing and has cool features (call screening, digital wellbeing, etc.) I DO NOT recommend this at all and actually miss my 4 year old Mototrola Droid Turbo that I gave up for this. Here it goes: 1. Biggest issue is it's phone functionality.
Cons: Doesn't work as a phone, Static, Dropped calls, poor phone bluetooth connections

Best camera just got even better
