Google Pixel 2 XL 64GB
The Google Pixel 2 XL is the upsized version of the Pixel 2 - a six-inch display compared to five inches. But what other big things does the Pixel 2 XL bring us?
Optimum Android Performance
Reviews from industry events launching the Pixel 2 XL rave about the new Android Oreo, the new Operating System which takes smartphone performance to a remarkable new level. According to some, this new Pixel smartphone is how Android should operate in its purest form.
Speed...Lots Of Speed
The Snapdragon chipset, combined with 4 GB of RAM, combine to make the Pixel 2 XL a very fast phone, noticeably speedier than many other smartphones occupying the higher end of the market.
Always On Is Always Handy
A smaller feature, but a most welcome one, is the Always On feature, which means you can see the time and other notifications without having to tap the screen.
Crystal Clear P-OLED Display
One of the big advantages of upsizing to the Pixel 2 XL is the enhanced resolution of the P-OLED display. Its 2,880 x 1,440 resolution equals a crystal-clear display, something to keep in mind if things like virtual reality gaming apps are on your wish list.
Not Dual-Lens, But Dual Pixel
The Pixel camera is being lauded as one of the best, if not THE best, on the smartphone market. While the cameras are not dual-lens, technological features like dual-pixel for a stunning depth effect, means that the rave reviews for these cameras are justified.
Keeping Dust and Water Out
Protecting all the grand features in the upsized Pixel 2 XL is improved dust and water resistance.
A newer model Google Pixel 3 XL 128GB was released in August 2018.

Google Pixel 2 XL (64GB, Just Black) - Grade (Excellent) review
The Google Pixel 2 XL is available for £629 for the 64GB version sim-free, which is in line with other large screen premium smartphones. The Pixel 2, with its 5inch screen, and £559 sim-free price seems expensive in comparison, without the "Wow" factor of a curved and almost borderless screen.- 6inch 18:9 screen, Optical Image Stabilisation, Dual front speakers, On-line backup till 2020, Portrait mode works well, Easy to use camera
- No headphone socket, No MicroSD slot to expand memory, A little expensive
Dreadful battery life. Gets hot in use.
Before buying this, please Google the many reviews by owners saying that the battery drains really quickly since the upgrade to 8.01 and that it gets hot in use. We only discovered this type of review when we had cause to look for it and we discovered these problems within the first hour or so of...
Google Pixel 2 XL
The Google Pixel 2 XL has its moments, but its display could easily be a deal breaker for some. It has an excellent camera, but it is somewhat inconsistent.- Good camera
- Smooth and fluid performance
- Now Playing is awesome
- Camera is inconsistent
- Undersaturated display with poor viewing angles
- Larger form factor than needed
The Google Pixel 2 XL is a strange phone to review and provide a final verdict on. I absolutely love Google’s Pixel phones, and I love using the Pixel 2 XL. There are so many things this phone does well; so many things it does better than its competitors.
- The best smartphone camera
- The best version of Android
- Excellent performance and battery life
- Significantly improved design, and it’s now water resistant
- Poor display for a flagship phone, which is really disappointing
- No headphone jack
- Expensive

- Impressive Google Lens feature
- Sharp and colorful 6-inch OLED screen
- Great photo quality with Portrait mode
- Faster than Galaxy S8
- Long battery life
- Screen has some color issues
- No wireless charging or headphone jack

Google Pixel 2 XL: Bigger isn't always better
The Pixel 2 XL releases next month, but is Google's plus-sized flagship really better than last year's effort?- Superb camera quality
- Great design
- Expensive
- Terrible display
Happy I made the switch
Switched over from about a decade of iPhones, was a little nervous at first, but after a couple weeks I'm very satisfied with my decision. I recommend this smartphone, the Android system is a pleasure to operate, very intuitive, and user friendly.
It's a little disappointing that the Pixel 2 XL's potentially most useful – and exciting – feature isn't fully ready yet but, to be honest, I'm not at all convinced by the phone as a whole anyway.
Not worth the price
The phone is good, but for that price, I would expect something far better. I have a Moto X Style which I paid around 250€ 3 years ago and it has a superb screen compared with Pixel 2 XL. I'm a big fan of Google and Android but this phone has a lot of flaws that are unacceptable at this price range.
