God of War Review – PS4
Rare is the game that's confident: uncompromising in its identity, unyielding in its cohesion and sense of self. Rarer still is the game that stays genuine and true while being so informed by its contemporaries.

God of War PS4 Review
I was always a critic of a Greek god being in an entirely different realm with different rules. I thought for sure the game was just using Kratos and the God of War IP to get it over the marketing line, but I've been proven massively wrong. This is a God of War game, and it's fucking brilliant.

A God's Humanity
Returning to a beloved series years later with a much-aged protagonist in a new setting with a young sidekick tagalong could give even the most ardent fans pause. God of War dispels any fears early on with some knock-down-drag-out action.

The apple doesn't fall far from Yggdrasil - God of War review
It's very rare that a game grabs me this completely, but God of War is, without a doubt, an early contender for Game of the Year. It's flawless in its execution, and the new benchmark for action titles. Well done, Santa Monica Studios, and thanks for taking us on this entirely new adventure.
Pros:
- 4K and gorgeous in every way
- Heavily varied environments
- Voiceovers and soundtrack are incredible
- Combat is fast paced and engaging
- Upgrade mechanics are a fantastic shot in the arm for the series
- Surprisingly emotional and engaging storyline

God of War Review – An Olympian Feat
Almost every console has a defining game, one that comes to mind whenever you think about the platform. These are the Marios and Halos of the video game world, the exclusive games that sell systems.
Pros:
- Wonderfully developed world based on Norse mythology
- Excellent main story with great characters
- Tons of side content that further develops the lore and setting of the game

One of PlayStation’s finest moments, Kratos has been reimagined for a new audience while keeping the best bits of what originally made him great.
Pros:
- An incredible spectacle of combat and action
- Great characters
- story and a beautifully realised semi-open world
- So much to see
- investigate and do
Cons:
- Upgrades are initially confusing
- It’s not always clear if you have the right tool for an enemy or puzzle yet
