An Absolute Masterpiece

(MINOR SPOILERS) This is a fantastic game, and if you can, play it immediately. This is probably up there in my top ten games ever. So without further ado, let's jump into it! Violence: Yes, just like the old games, it is very gory, but not unnecessary, as it has its purpose.

Fun and kept me engaged.

The gameplay was surprisingly fun and interesting, I usually get bored with video games but God of War kept me engaged and interested with its great story and stunning graphics. I didn't dislike any part of the game and it took me about 2 weeks to beat it, which i like because short gameplay feels...

God of War review (PS4)

For a time, God of War was arguably Sony's strongest intellectual property. With each of three main games, Sony Santa Monica was able to up the ante and wow us with the ever-increasing scale.

God of war

I bought this around a week ago, i have played the whole series and this one is the best one yet. The graphics and gameplay are superb and the change to nordic gods make this completely different to the other titles in the series.

God of War (for PlayStation 4)

Santa Monica Studio's God of War lays the foundation for an entirely new action series. God of War combines spectacle, graphical wizardry, RPG development, and meaty melee combat into an impressive package that is sure to please fans of the genre, as well as curious onlookers alike.

Unrivaled visuals and spectacular set pieces; Rewarding exploration and wonderfully realized setting; Fun fighting system

Camera is clunky, especially when fighting multiple enemies; Tougher enemies are more frustrating than fun

God of War (PlayStation 4) Review

God of War is an exceptionally solid action game that delivers the epic scope the series is known for, but in a new way. While many of the plot elements are a bit forced at times, the characters themselves are well written and performed very naturally.

Most of the combat and gameplay mechanics have been completely overhauled, like the fixed camera that's been replaced with a third-person over-the-shoulder free camera, as well as the addition of a companion.

Stunning visuals; Great soundtrack; Solid gear upgrade system; Interesting depiction of Norse mythology; Massive open-world free to explore; Excellent challenges and puzzles; A lot of optional content; Dynamic combat system

Story could have been better; Few epic fights in story mode; Strong characters; but relationship falls flat; Combat can become repetitive; Skill tree can use some improvements

God of War

Traditionally, God of War 's barbarous antihero, Kratos, has long been synonymous with severed heads and limbs and all sorts of other delirious horrors visited upon his enemies. This, however, isn't the picture of Kratos that 2018's God of War is drawn to.

God Of War review – the redemption of Kratos

A top-to-bottom revamp of the whole God Of War franchise that matches thrilling, if slightly shallow, combat and exploration with some impressively trenchant storytelling.

The new visual style and combat work extremely well, with an interesting and secret-filled game world; Excellent storytelling and great use of Kratos' character; Stunning graphics

The combat is highly enjoyable but relatively simplistic, at least on normal difficulty; Slightly uninspired enemy designs and repetitive puzzles

PS4 Review - 'God of War'

Buy God of War It's fitting that God of War opens with a Norse funeral pyre. Jaded fans could see it as a symbolic "death" of a character and gameplay style they love, altered forever by the inclusion of some kid they saw in the demos and trailers. Kratos has gone soft, they might say.
