Fujifilm X-T20

Announced at the press event in Kyoto on 19 January, the X-T20 is one of three new models that are being added to Fujifilm's portfolio in the first part of this year. Fujifilm X-T20 review

So, is the X-T20 a cheaper edition of the X-T2 that retains all the same benefits? Not quite – there’s a step down in build quality, as well as a few minor differences here and there. But for most people, the new £800 model will deliver results that are just as good as its £1,400 big brother’s, in a body that’s just as easy to live with. With well laid-out controls, a huge viewfinder, excellent autofocus, a top class sensor and access to some superb lenses, the X-T20 is just one more fantastic mirrorless camera from Fujifilm, and come the end of 2017 it’s sure to be strong contender for Stuff’s system camera of the year. Superb image quality; Fast autofocus and good handling; Reasonably affordable; Touchscreen a nice new addition;

Not weatherproof;

Fujifilm X-T20

The Fujifilm X-T20 is a new mid-range compact system camera that's smaller, lighter and crucially a lot cheaper than the flagship X-T2 model. Still though, this isn't a bad camera at all; it's just that sometimes working with the metering may be tough and you should always ensure you charge the batteries.

Fujifilm's X-T20 takes the design and handling of the X-T10, adds many of the 'guts' of the X-T2, and stirs until a very competent mirrorless camera emerges. It offers the direct setting controls found on nearly all of Fujifilm X-series cameras that make it a real pleasure to use.

Fujifilm X-T20 Review

Borrowing heavily from the superb X-T2, the X-T20 offers professional power at a great value.

Great value; Impressive image quality; Strong lens ecosystem; Classic design; 4K video

No in-body image stabilization; Dedicated ISO dial would have been nice

Fujifilm X-T20

Fujifilm's X-T20 ($899.95, body only) exudes style. The retro-chic mirrorless shooter is loaded with physical controls, sports a touch screen, and packs a top-notch image sensor backed by a strong autofocus system.

24MP APS-C X-Trans III image sensor; 8fps burst rate; 14fps with electronic shutter; Big, sharp EVF; Tilting touch LCD; Loads of physical controls; Film Simulation options; 4K video capture; Wi-Fi

Omits in-body stabilization and weather sealing; No dedicated focus select control; Shooting buffer could be larger; 4K footage suffers from rolling shutter effect
