Fujifilm X-E3 review

For those who don't demand all the bells and whistles of Fujifilm's top-of-the-line models, but want all the charm and charisma of the X-series, the company's slimmed-down versions of its more advanced cameras are very appealing.

Supports Bluetooth in addition to Wi-Fi connectivity; Faster AF-C tracking in zone and tracking modes; Introduces Touch function to activate pre-assigned functions; Smaller and more compact than existing X-E-series models

Top-plate Fn button can be knocked when adjusting exposure compensation; Data port is USB 2 and micro-USB; rather than USB 3 and Type-C; Doesn't handle particularly well with large zoom lenses; Fairly short battery life

Fujifilm X-E3

Fujifilm's X-E3 camera, which was announced on 7 September, is a lighter, more compact alternative to the X-T20 , with which it shares many features. The X-E3 has a fixed monitor, whereas the X-T20's monitor tilts up and down.

Fujifilm X-E3

The Fujifilm X-E3 is a mid-range rangefinder compact system camera that replaces the previous X-E2S model. The XE3 is very similar to the DSLR-like X-T20 camera in terms of its core specification, boasting the same 24.3 megapixel APS-C sized X-Trans CMOS III sensor, 2.36m dot resolution OLED...

The Fujifilm X-E3 is a small, light-weight rangefinder-style camera that sits next to the SLR-style X-T20 in Fujifilm's camera line. And features the latest 24MP X-Trans CMOS sensor, a touchscreen, AF joystick, high-resolution electronic viewfinder and 4K video capture .

Fujifilm X-E3

The Fujifilm X-E3 is truly an excellent mirrorless camera. Its 24 megapixels X-Trans CMOS III sensor with built-in Phase-Detect AF and fast X-Processor Pro truly deliver an exceptional all-around performance. Image quality is very good and the 325-Point autofocus system is extremely quick.

Very low image noise up to ISO 3200; Wide dynamic-range; Reliable metering; Natural rendition of image colors; Good automatic white-balance; Ultra-fast autofocus; Instant shutter-lag with virtually no blackout; Excellent shot-to-shot speed; Instant video response; Excellent build quality

Somewhat aggressive noise-reduction; Low ISO 100 unreliable; Not Exposure-Priority; Misleading EVF and LCD preview; Complicated Shutter-Speed control; Very short battery-life; Minimal hand-grip; Soft aperture detents With all current XF-mount lenses

Wonderful light, compact camera.

This is our 4th Fuji camera and for me is the best. I started with an X100 and love it to this day, the XE3 is all that and interchangeable lenses too.

Size; external controls; interchangeable lenses

I'm still not completely sold on the Xtrans sensor; it seems difficult for the aftermarket processing industry to get a grip on

Fujifilm X-E3 review: A sound mirrorless camera

For those who don't demand all the bells and whistles of Fujifilm's top-of-the-line models, but want all the charm and charisma of the X-series, the company's slimmed-down versions of its more advanced cameras are very appealing, like the new Fujifilm X-E3.

Fujifilm X-E3 review

The Fujifilm X-E3 is a cracking little camera. The premium finish is complemented by an array of tactile controls and a touchscreen interface that make this camera a joy to shoot with.

Rich and detailed images; Tactile controls; Refined handling; Decent AF system; Film simulation modes

Limited touchscreen control; Battery life could be better; Fixed display

Fujifilm X-E3 Review

The Fujifilm X-E3 sacrifices very little to bring professional style and performance to a friendlier price.

Wonderful design; Great image quality; Strong lens ecosystem; 4K video; Great value

Lacks some direct access control; No tilt screen; No internal stabilization
