Shame about the battery

Good camera let down by poor battery life
Pros:
  • Bulid Quality is good as is image quality
Cons:
  • The battery on my example would only take around thirty shots before it needed to be recharged
  • Very disappointing

The Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR is part of the FinePix F compact digital camera series. This camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels and 20X optical zoom lens. For extra-close shots, it extends to 40X magnification power.
Pros:
  • The Fujifilm FinePix F has GPS with advanced features
  • and it can take up to 300 photos on one charge
Cons:
  • The pop-up flash has to be activated by pressing a button
  • and it is not as quick as we would like to see

F770exr

After a couple of returns this camera is now working fine and was bought to replace the old f70. The only improvement on what was a great little camera is the quality and range of the zoom now possible in such good quality compared to lens' from a few years ago.

Fujifilm F770EXR Digital Camera Review

The F770EXR is a decidedly frustrating camera. If you're a fully automatic user looking for great image quality and a long zoom, the F770's EXR Mode will perform admirably. The camera seamlessly switches from resolution to dynamic range to noise priority without the user having to do a thing.

I bought 2 of these cameras; one for my wife and one for my daughter-in-law. Both wanted the performance of a digital SLR in the size of a compact point & shoot. This camera comes closer than any others I have seen in this price range. Their #1 goal was short start-up time and short shutter lag.

I've owned the F770EXR for just over a year and taken almost 12000 photos with it. Out of the box it was impressive. Good zoom range. Good low light performance. However within the first couple of months the poor build quality started to show, with the lens cover starting to play up.
Pros:
  • Zoom
  • Low light sensitvity
Cons:
  • Build quality
  • Auto exposure settings

Pricy but well worth it - overcomes the failings of other compact cameras

Forget all the marketing hype about megapixels and big zoom ranges - the real failing of non-SLR digital cameras is the unacceptable delay between pressing the button and the photograph being taken - unless your subject is virtually static you will NOT get the picture you tried to take.
