The Flip range of pocket video cameras has long been a PC Pro favourite, marrying ease of use with excellent video quality at a reasonable price. The latest Flip UltraHD adds a couple of major new features to the armoury: image stabilisation and 50fps video recording.

With the Flip camcorder, what you record is what you get. There are no image adjustment options, and all footage is captured in the standard 720p HD resolution at 50 frames per second.

The Flip Video camcorder is all about ease and portability. The business model that its creators have taken with its development closely mirrors the method of refinement that Apple has long used to evolve its products.

When I tried to play/share video on my pc, I kept getting error messages and had to re-install about 3 times. When I finally managed to get the clips to play (via Quicktime, not Flipshare) the image and sound didn't sync up. What a waste of time. I'm returning it today.

Overall, it is a good little camera. Pros- It is quick to grab and record, no menus to trudge through. Easy video to computer transfer. Comes with rechargeable battery. Light weight. Cons- Hard to hold steady when filming by hand, microphone is sensitive to back noise. Limited zoom.
