DJI Phantom 4 Low-Noise Quick Release Props DJIP4PT137 review

The latest version of DJI's top-end consumer drone, the Phantom 4, improves on its predecessor in many ways. It's the best consumer drone on the market, and it's priced accordingly.

Easy to fly; Extremely stable; Obstacle avoidance; Incredible operating range with 720p Live View; Return-to-home and other safety features; Automated flight modes; High-speed Sport mode; Smooth 4K video capture; 20mm wide-angle lens; Subject recognition and tracking.

Pricey; True mission planning requires third-party app.

DJI Phantom 4 Low-Noise Quick Release Props DJIP4PT137 review

Not just a simple step up – the Phantom 4 is a massive leap forward for drones that should open the doors to everyone

Obstacle detection and automatic modes means it practically flies itself; Still the easiest drone to use; even in Sport mode; Fantastic camera and an even better gimbal

Low light still a challenge; Lack of model choice

Excellent quality footage; intuitive app and controls; sleek and polished design

Only shipped with one battery; propellers obscure footage at high speeds; object tracking isn't always accurate

DJI Phantom 4 Low-Noise Quick Release Props DJIP4PT137 review

Yep, it's not cheap, but DJI has made one of the smartest drones available with the Phantom 4.

The DJI Phantom 4 is a very polished drone compared to its competition, and for those who've flown a quad before, you'll have no trouble getting started with this one; The new Sport mode lets you get to your location faster or just have some fun.

The Obstacle Sensing System only sees things in front of the drone; You still need a tablet or phone ready to go along with the controller and drone battery; Extra batteries are expensive.

DJI Phantom 4 Low-Noise Quick Release Props DJIP4PT137 review

Novice pilots will love the simple control and flying of the Phantom 4, and experienced pilots will like the power and speed.

Longer battery life; Faster flight; Excellent image quality; App is straightforward and easy to use

Collision avoidance is not foolproof; Some modes disable collision avoidance; Flight modes are confusing; Occasionally catches sight of itself in video; Expensive
