DJI Osmo Action
DJI Osmo Action is the leading Chinese drone company DJI's first action camera. It's a natural market expansion for DJI, since drones and action cameras are complementary products. Osmo Action competes head-to-head with the GoPro Hero8 Black. Will it take market share from GoPro? Time will tell, but it retails for about $170 less and boasts advanced hardware. Hence, GoPro has a new fierce competitor in the market.
Osmo Action records video in 4K format at 60 fps (frames per second) and 100 Mbps. The framerate increases to 120 fps for 1080 format. These specs ensure that the recordings are always crisp.

This DJI Osmo Action camera is a compact waterproof camera that comes with optical image stabilization in both video and photography sessions. It has a full-color front LCD, is easy to control, and can be manually set-up according to your requirements.
Pros:
- Front and back both have a color display
- Durable to last for a long time without breaking down
- Has stabilized 4K footage at 60 fps that reduces blurriness
- Supports HDR in videos and photography for clear pictures
- Comes with slow-motion recording perfect for your water photography

- Battery becomes low after a couple of shots

Does not support webcam function
unfortunately this product does not support as a web camera and you have to remove the sd card every now and then for you to transfer files. the cord is for charging alone. the mic is good though.

The DJI Osmo Action is a small, waterproof action camera with 4K video and a full-color front LCD, but its stabilization isn't quite as good as rival GoPro.
Pros:
- Rugged, waterproof build

- Easily swappable filters
- Supports HDR and flat profiles
- Front and rear color displays
- Filters included.
Cons:
- Battery life could be better
- HDR video isn't stabilized
- Stabilization not as good as GoPro
- No tripod socket.

DJI Osmo Action review
The DJI Osmo Action is a fantastic little number that runs circles around (other) GoPro copycats. It also gives the Hero7 Black a serious run for its money and still manages to hold its own now that the Hero8-series has arrived, with its great image quality, plenty of shooting modes and that selfie screen. If you vlog a lot, need steady video and don’t want to pay GoPro prices, the DJI Osmo Action is a great alternative.
Pros:
- Very good stabilization
- Handy front display
- Competitive video quality
Cons:
- Display lag when RockSteady is active
- Mounting requires housing (unlike Hero8)
- No 4:3 60fps capture

Great little action cam, has come a long way since launch adding more features and improvements. the way dji continues software support is excellent and shows they care about the products they release

While the Osmo Action sees DJI entering a new market, its experience with cameras is obvious. There's clearly a lot of expertise carried down from the excellent shooters in the Mavic and Phantom series.

DJI Osmo Action review: A GoPro killer
Rather than a big leap forward from GoPro's flagship, it refines some areas (usability, manual shooting options) while drawing level with the Hero 7 Black in others (video quality, stabilisation).
Pros:
- Video quality and stabilisation match the GoPro Hero 7 Black
- Front screen is a real boon for vlogging
- Most user-friendly action camera around
- Versatile in manual shooting mode
- Waterproof without needing a case
- Cheaper than a Hero 7 Black
Cons:
- No live-streaming
- No stabilisation in HDR mode
- Official accessories not yet available
- Still needs an external microphone for good audio

DJI Osmo Action Review
It doesn't blow the GoPro Hero 7 Black out of the water, but the Osmo Action's all-round performance and lower price mean it's our new number one action camera. Its front screen is a real boon for vlogging, and in most situations its video quality and stabilisation matches GoPro's flagship (without surpassing it). Speedy operation and a polished interface also make it the most user-friendly action camera around. In some areas (livestreaming, hyperlapse quality, accessories), GoPro still has the edge, but if you need a new waterproof camera for summer adventures then the Osmo Action is the best around.

DJI Osmo Action review: Stabilise your footage without a gimbal
With DJI launching its first action camera, some might have seen it as a little foolish to go after a market place that GoPro has championed - and one that's dwindling. But we don't think that's the story here.
Pros:

- Two screens make shooting yourself much easier
- Stabilisation is fantastic

- Still image quality needs improvement
- No autofocus
