I purchased this product to speed up the wireless on an older laptop. It was not heavily used as my wife only uses the laptop a couple times a week at most and only for basic internet browsing.

-Worked fairly well while it was working; was faster than the previous N dongle I used for years.

-Large size -Annoying pulsing LED light that you can turn off with a button but turns back on next time you reboot - Died within 3 months; looking online; seems to happen often

Works well with AC2300 router. Drivers from Web and a little messing around to get it to behave but now goes well.

There's no point in upgrading your router to an 802.11ac model unless your various PCs and other connected devices can handle the extra speed boost, which is where this cute little external Wi-Fi adaptor comes into play.
