D-Link RangeBooster N USB Adapter Review

There is little that can be said about the DWA-142 adapter. We like it because of its original design. It is certainly different externally from other Wi-Fi adapters with a USB interface. We can note one serious drawback about it: the DWA-142 works poorly with the Intensify chipset.

Original design; Can be wall-mounted; Large indicator

Incompatible with the ASUS WL-500W; Fasteners for wall mounting not included into the kit

Good range, solid connection

I recently bought this DWA-140 to add wireless-n to an old laptop. The adapter has a very nice look, especially when it's used with the included cradle. which is very useful for mounting the adapter and finding the best reception spot.

Nice look; very good range; no drop-out's; fast speed; easy setup

Sore

I was sorely dissapointed with DWA-140, though I am not an IT specialist, I am not completely illerate on computers. I figured since I am using the D-Link DIR-655, the DWA-140 would be a win-win situation to network two computers. Not so.

Easy installation!

Used for office network. It is replacing a Linksys adapter that was good, but had connection problems at times. This one appears to connect and remain connected full time! Love it so far.

UnDecided

Can't give a 5 star review cause I actually don't have it working yet. It connects briefly then within a second or two disconnects. I'm thinking that it may be my security on my router, or some random setting, but for now, I'm undecided.

"Powerful wee bit of kit that can see round corners"

I bought one of these when I got fed up with the Belkin wireless we had in my husband's laptop. We gave up trying to use it wirelessly, plugged hi laptop into the modem and moved the PC, using it with this external wireless adapter The Belkin was half the price ( laptop wireless adapter) but only...

Works at long range; easy to install; powerful

Bit more expensive than some

Awesome product

Ideal for home use of course and is very fast indeed. Glad it came with a dock as my last adapter fried due to a static attack on my USB hub but anything with a wired connection was unaffected.

Only one issue i have and it's not with the product, it's the price.

Easy To Set Up; Fast; Fast Connection Speed; Reliable connection; Secure Connection
